why would people think atheism is better than christianity?
Atheism is different for every atheist. For me, it is simply disbelief in any religion, including Christianity. This is better for me because I don't saddle myself with useless dogma based on ancient nonsense.
1. atheists wish christians would die, christians wish atheists would repent.
I've never wished for anyone to die based on their religion. I've often been told to drop dead by fundamentalists, or been told I'm going to hell if I don't subscribe immediately to their view of God.
Similarly, I've often read comments from fundamentalists who wished for the end to draw near. Sounds like a death wish to me.
2. christians know where there going after they die, atheists dont think they go anywhere.
Christians think they know where they go when they die. They have no hard evidence for it. I don't delude myself over things I have no way of knowing.
3. atheists hate, christians love.
I have to call you on that one. I love my parents, my siblings, my wife, my kids, and my friends. You'd be hard pressed to find someone I hate.
No,I don't hate Christians,
As for Christian love, the jury is still out, especially if you're a Bush supporter and think he's doing a great job fighting terrorists in the Middle East.
4. christians worship God, atheists dont worship anyone or anything.
No argument there. For once, somebody gets it.
5. christians gain comfort from God, atheists are comforted only by themselves.
Nothing wrong there either. That's why we cherish family and friends. They're real. They answer when we talk to them.
Does your god?
so it's quite obvious that atheism is a hateful and lonely religion, but christianity is full of love and hope and comfort.
It isn't obvious at all, and you're contradicting yourself. If atheists do not worship anyone or anything, as you stated in point 4, then how can atheism be a religion?
Christianity is no more full of "love and hope and comfort" than any other religious philosophy.
Plenty of atheists have love and hope and comfort to spare without needing an invisible sky daddy.
