"I understand the theory of Plate techtonics.
However, I simply find the idea of magically moving plates of continent, all moving around so fast they push up mountains, yet so slowly no on has ever seen them move (not to mention the problems caused by the lack of a "missing piece"... that is, there simply isn't a way for all these pieces of plate to be racing around without a pre-existing gap for them to move into, otherwise whence comes all that momentum?) is laughably less likely than the Global Flood explanation, which not only addresses the observed evidence quite neatly, but ALSO co-incides with the eye witness and cultural accounts we have."

Dude, you fail at geology. Take an Earth History class, and you'll learn that continents moving don't cause mountain ranges quickly - it's pressure, time, and/or volcanic activity. It takes a darn long time. Although people are actually watching the next Hawaiian island being formed. Yay for basaltic lava.
And you believe a bunch of ancient people's myths that didn't know what we know now? Okay. Just don't expect me to believe it.
Lunalelle:
I thought Loihi was more adding onto the Big Island than making an island in and of itself?
Anyway, if this guy actually understands plate tectonics, I don't think he'd be talking about "magically moving" or "missing piece" the way he is. I mean, is he totally oblivious to the concept of subduction or ocean floor spreading?
The eye-witnesses that you have? I though they all died except for the chosen 8? You retard.
I don't think you are able to comprehend this, but plates move under each other, over each other, and even at the bottom of the sea.
And the sun and moon move so slowly that one is unable to detect their movements for a while.
Conclusion? You're a FUCKING retard.

Me too.
However, the way plate tectonics really works is considerably more plausible.
If you had any familiarity with elementary science, HH, you would understand some of the main points of geology.
Global flood...no geological evidence of anything within the last, oh, 6000 years...nobody can prove Noah's flood was global, as they didn't have independent corroborating testimony from other parts of the globe.
If the whole humanity came to extinction except Noah and his offsprings, which witnesses watched it?, and how earthquakes come to existance, then?, aren´t they witnesses enough?
"Magically moving?"
Um, nothing magical about thermodynamic convection currents in a liquid medium.
"no one has ever seen them move?"
Um, yes they have, ever heard of an "earthquake?"
No, you do not understand the Theory of Plate Tectonics.
The movement of the plates is not magical in the slightest, the speed and force can be measured and it's fairly constant.
"missing piece"? Very simply and what I remember from Nature Science classes 20 years ago: There is one "horisontal" rift in one ocean pushing up magma, and there is one rift in the other ocean where one plate pushes the other plate under itself. The first rift causes the momentum.
There is no evidence for any of the Global Flood myths. There is tangible and ongoing evidence for Plate Tectonics.
There might well have been floods in ancient times that covered all the known world . But the known world was not Global, it was perhaps the Middle East, or the southern tip of India, or Scandinavia, depending on where they lived.
A quote from Spock comes to my mind (Star Trek II, The Wrath of Khan) ;-)
His pattern indicates two-dimensional thinking.
These plates are moving because they are floating on a sea of - say it with me now - Liquid Hot Magma. Hex, do you even know what that is? Have you ever even seen magma? Have you ever experienced an earthquake? Dear god, have you ever even seen an elementary textbook on the subject, or was the bible and Kent Hovind all that was allowed in your curriculum? Are you aware that there are books besides the bible??
(something tells me that this guy and the downfall of America are somehow related)

No.
The Earth's mantle is solid. It still convects, but it does not melt because the pressure is too high. Only when hot material is rapidly brought to the surface does it turn into magma.
Instead of water, think of dough.
we can measure them when they have moved.
every fucking year.
and its not "magical" like the way your god supposedly works...
with "global floods" that leave no indication of a global flood.
open your fucking mind.
Open mouth, insert foot, chew, ignore the pain and blood, swallow entire leg.
Confused?
