[A fundie's example of a "scientific fact" in the bible]
Here's something else that's pretty cool when you ponder it.
Science now knows that stars emit radio waves, which are received on earth as a high pitched sound.
Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy

I can just imagine this guy 'interpretting' a mundane journal entry...
Journal: This morning I got up at 6:30.
ProjectPeter: Ah, this Godly account describes how the Earth was formed...scientifically! By 'got up', the narrater means the mountains rose due to tectonic plate action in the early history of the Earth.
J: Afterward, I stumbled into the bathroom to take a shower.
PP: 'Stumbling' indicates that this mountain-forming process generated earthquakes. And the 'shower' shows how the first rains fell upon the nascent Earth, forming the first oceans.
J: I dried myself and walked to the kitchen to get myself some breakfast.
PP: And this is about the evolution of life on Earth! It started in the oceans, then 'dried' itself when it first walked upon dry land. 'Walking to the kitchen to get breakfast' refers to how predators have to work in order to feed themselves. Man, I've never read so many scientific facts in one place before!
Don't forget this is actually from the classic Hebrew mythology snowdome.
Job 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Job 38:5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
Job 38:6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
Job 38:8 Or [who] shut up the sea with doors, when it brake forth, [as if] it had issued out of the womb?
Radio waves are a form of electromagnetic radiation. Sound, on the other hand, is the vibration of matter being picked up by your ears. the two are mutually exclusive, and you, saving the fact that they are both emitted in waves.
With the recent decision at bibleforums.org to stifle intelligent discussion regarding science & the bible, this thread is a perfect example of the kind of "science" we'll be seeing from them, in the future.
Oy vay!
I just can't imagine jesus listening to his mp3-Fm receiver, but afterall, he talked to his father, so maybe a walkie-talkie was possible.
Pondering... pondering...
No, its not cool, its stupid.
Um, no, no, and also no. Three strikes, go away.
"Job 38:7 When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy"
Ahhhh, but it doesn't say in actual plain language 'stars emit radio waves' now, does it?!
Now point out to me - chapter & verse - in plain language, what the next format will be that'll replace Blu-Ray, in the Bible; before it's actual announcement. No pressure.
It's okay, I can wait...!
@Princess Rot
"Pondering... pondering..."
Brain: 'Are you pondering what I'm pondering, Pinky?'
Pinky: 'I think so, Brain - that even I know more than Petey here!'
Brain: 'You don't know how right you are, my compatriot with the IQ of a turnip.'
Confused?
