Atheists getting married is WORSE than gays marrying, since atheists can have babies and raise them to be more atheists.
Evidently this guy made it into adulthood without ever having the Sex Talk, if he thinks that marriage is somehow an essential component of the baby-making process. Of course, this argument would technically have worked back in the bad old days (and, in some places, not so old), when unmarried mothers were imprisoned and had their children taken away from them, given the statistical unlikelihood of the adoptive parents also being atheists. And if this guy thinks we should go back to that, especially in light of the recent, horrifying report on just how religious "correctional" institutions in Ireland treated such people, he's really fucked up.
But gays can't make babies (at least not naturally) and thus their genes will mostly die out and we should eventually have less gays.
Epic Multifail. First, you imply that sexuality is genetically determined, which obliterates the idiotic "choice" argument relied upon so heavily, often exclusively, by countless fundie bigots. Second, at least one member of a homosexual relationship does still pass on their genes even when artificially fertilised. Third, homosexuality has been around for fucking millennia; it certainly existed in biblical times, otherwise the old testament would never have needed to prohibit it in the first place - why on earth should it die out now if it's lasted this far under exactly the same conditions? Fourth, I gather it is a common practice for homosexuals (and bisexuals), in times and places where they would be persecuted were they to be open about their preferences, to have a heterosexual marriage of convenience either to cover themselves or for some other benefit, in which they could still reproduce - if your implicit premises were actually correct and it weren't for artificial insemination and gay marriage did, as you seem to believe, prevent reproduction, and also for the ability of people to cheerfully fuck each other outside of marriage, allowing gay marriage would actually reduce the propagation of a homosexual/bisexual gene, as it would reduce the number of homosexuals and/or bisexuals settling for a heterosexual marriage - which, in your ignorant and naive worldview, is the only circumstance under which they could reproduce!
