" The people on TV said it was terrible because it wasn’t “soaring.” Something tells me they never worked in a factory and probably don’t know anyone who does."
It’s the first inaugural address I’ve ever heard that has ever touched me in any way, and it touched me deeply. I honestly never before felt like politicians gave a damn about working American families, and it sounded to me very much like he did. I also didn’t anticipate that having someone in power who will look out for people like me and mine would actually make me feel any different, but it does. It’s a potent mixture of gratitude and hope.
He set a very high bar for himself.

Yes, politicians are very good at writing speeches that make them sound like caring people. It helps their political career if they can make the people believe they are on their side.

Otherwise known as Kool Aid.
Clown stick said Americans make too much money, dumbfuck base says "he's not talking about us"
There's no hope for these people.
General consensus from the speech today, from conservative voices yet: Divisive.
You'll see a lot of fan fic about how it was the most bestest amazing speech ever.
How is this fundie? Really, he's just saying it was a good speech, which ultimately is his subjective opinion.
(That said, yes he's a moron)
I think you read into his speech what YOU wanted to hear. All I heard was him saying "let's be great. Don't criticize the government". But the ability to openly criticize one's government is the single thing that makes a country great. We are all invested in making a great country, and the only way that advances have been made is by listening to the people and their concerns.
Notably, the while house website changed immediately to shut down a number of fields, telling us all unequivocally that the government is not going to concern itself with the climate, with healthcare concerns, and with social justice issues. That won't do, Mr. Trump. You have to listen to the people. You're our employee now.
yeah, that's actually a good summation of his campaign too. he's not going to actually live up to all those promises he's making, he's not even interested in trying, he couldn't hope to succeed if he did try --- but of all the candidates who even tried to run for prez this time, he and Sanders were the only ones who seemed interested in so much as talking about it .
it sounded to me very much like he did
This is political, not fundie, and not extreme, just dumb, but really: can anybody really believe that an antagonistic Mr. billionaire is going to care about them? If so, his motto would have been "you're hired!" and not "you're fired!"
Not quite fundie, though it comes from a guy who's provided many hardcore Trumpeter delicacies in the past. I reckon it's like when we uploaded an ordinary obituary to the site just because it was the obituary of notorious MRA Angry Harry.
That said... you really found yourself inspired by the most generic "Imma make the country special with my ~magic politician powers~" speech imaginable? Just go lick Trump's boots clean already.
"It’s the first inaugural address I’ve ever heard that has ever touched me in any way,"
Except for Obamas when you shit your pants with rage that a nigger was allowed to be president of our great white exceptional country.
I am somewhat perturbed. Since my Japanese girfriend was taken from me by a hell-bound Spanish speaking heathen catholic I have undergone some serious perturbation in the dark confines of my yacht.
But more than that. There seems to be a news story on the radio recently that suggests that the US presidential election has already been, and that Donald Trump has already won, without my help. I cannot conceive how this was possible...
It must be a demonic deception, to make me feel that the cause is lost and give up. But I shall not give up so easily. My godsister Marine Le Pen has a saying for times like this, but unfortunately it's in French and I don't understand it.
I shall persevere! Once more I shall steer this wonderful yacht in whichever direction the USA is... and keep on sailing until I get there.
Keep the faith guys, I know you all want to see Trump take the white House! And then we'll work to expand Rapture Ready into a nation-wide on-line church that everyone will be force... I mean invited to attend! Won't that be fun?
But what does working at a factory have to do with anything?
I've tried to read his inaugural address, and found not much of substance and repeats of the horror show he'd painted in his campaign rallies.
It's not fundie. It us just FUCKING RETARDED! In what universe...I can't even...fuck those of you who voted for Trump. You will get the leader you deserve - I can practically guarantee it.
Yup, heard part of his speech too. Didn't listen to the whole thing. Seen and heard all this before.
I'll repeat what others said - not fundie. Just naivete.
I'll give it to Trump though, it takes balls to present oneself as a representant of the people while being a literal billionaire.
What happened today in the same place - and with far more people - certainly touched me.
The fact that only a fraction of the amount of people at Obama's inauguration turned up to Donald Fart's may be an indication of the apathy towards your new bedwetter-in-chief, Bill Pee .
It speaks volumes about those who may already be having their doubts about who's in the White House now. [/Brexit]

Donald "Extinction Engine" Trump
This from BBC News yesterday. Note the ticker:

Like I say, considering the apathy in enthusiasm, audience-wise - compared to that time previously in 2013 or 2009 - perhaps in a way 'tis a good thing Donald Fart was elected.
The carnage he could potentially do - as compared to Dumbya: and he was their anointed one then - may destroy the GOP.
Remember how so many in the Repubican party hated Wiggy's guts? Certainly when he denied them of their choice in candidates...?!
Be careful what you wish for indeed. So many here regretting their 'decision' after last year. Scotland wanting another referendum...! [/Midterms]

Thus the naivete of a section of the US electorate.

You can fool all of them some of the time. Which is just long enough to become president of the US.
90,000 at Donald Fart's inauguration.
At Obama's? 2.5 million.
You do the maths. In more ways than one.
3 million country-wide marching to protest Donald Fart. And more worldwide.
... Yeah, I don't think he's as loved as he thinks he is...
I seriously, as a Canadian, have no idea how anyone finds anything he says remotely interesting, enlightening, or touching.
@Anon-e-moose
And the CONFIRMED numbers posted here on the inauguration and protests.
Who the hell ACTUALLY voted for him? That small crowd mostly did, one would surmise, I'm thinking there's a few hostages in there too. The Clownstick parade was worse, not just lower numbers, dismal numbers and the weather was better than usual.

What Donald Fart's Anus-by-Proxy Sean 'Defensive' Spicer said about the numbers.

We know the source of Fake News.
BBC News, ITN, Reuters, New York Times, Daily Mirror, The Guardian, Huffington Post, even Private Eye and The Onion: Facts.
I'd say Sean 'Defensive' Spicer has, if anything, a more stressful job than Wiggy's. He said that never will Fart's press office lie. The Press Corps - regardless of if they're allowed in the White House's press room or not - will hold them to that. Both of them: the Anus-by-Proxy and the arsehole it's attached to.
The slightest porky told: later proved to be a lie, and they're fucked.
'The Buck Stops Here'. Don't forget that, Donald Fart.
Confused?
