I suppose AoDoA thinks that Moses was the first President of the United States or something similar, rather than an apocryphal figure.
Don't recall the Bible mentioning free elections or anything of the kind (correct me if I'm wrong though).
Moses was a dictator. So was the Pharaoh. So was Balak. Most societies were dictatorships back in those days. The people of Israel griped about Moses having too much power and wanted something more democratic. God got pissed at them and killed a bunch of them and they shut up about it in a hurry. The story is in Numbers 16. Are you just annoyed because they didn't come up with some nice, sugar-coated alternative word for it?
Hah, Anti-Christian, on the History Channel.
Apparently you don't watch much of it, not that I'd say that's a bad thing.
Nah, nah. He was just the nice philantropist who murdered all the men, women, children and babies of a village, excluding the female virgins for rape.
Wasn't Moses...like, before Christianity? Geez, we have to school Christians on their own religion right from the basics, don't we?
Saw that, thought it was awesome.
Let's be frank, everything the program said made sense. Everything thing the bible claims about the time line fits nicely with what actual historians and archaeologists have figured out. The side tracking back to the mountain, the running around for forty years, why everyone they met hated them. It actually explains why Moses himself never made it (the biblical excuse for why one of gods best servants would be cast aside makes no sense at all).
If you factor in the idea that he was a warlord then what used to be fantasy bullshit and plot hole after plot hole suddenly makes sense.
Why would anyone watch the history channel these days? The programming is crap (I suppose they're trying to appeal to the lowest common denominator) and even if they DO have a watchable program they've got bloody advertisements for other (crappy) shows popping up all over the place so you can't see the bloody program.
I'll stick with illegal downloads tyvm.

Did it ever occur to you that you just might be jumping the gun a little bit? (...and not just a little bit).
By using modern perspectives, yes Moses was a dictator. But then again most places where. The only place that I can think of that wasn't was the Roman republic (which ended with Augustus taking the Emperor's throne if I remember my history class correctly) and the Greek city state of Athens.
As far as it being an Illuminati plot, I somehow doubt that.
Frankly, the history channels been pandering to Fundies, presenting Biblical stories as history. Once you start on the slippery slope of presenting fables as history your gonna piss of even fundies, I guess, as their churchs stand on that fable is a different 'truth' then the History Channels presenting.
There's about three shows on there claiming to have 'historians' that are absolute bullshit. The Nostradameaus Effect being right-out right-wing fundie garbage about their end-time fantasy
Moses was a crazy bastard who forced his fellow Hebrews to eat a golden calf...He certainly wasn't a good guy.
And obviously the history channel is in cahoots with Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, and Ke$ha all of whom are puppets for the illuminati. Duh.
I thought Moses was Jewish? You conspiracy types always talk about the Jews and illuminati trying to control the world, so you should be agreeing with the History Channel.
But frankly, any time someone brings up "illuminati" in conversation, it's a red flag meaning that everything they say is bogus conspiracy nonsense.
@Rumpshaker Slim"
Thanks for the info.
Or could be a simple OPINION, based in what it's written on the Bible. You're free to believe it or not, nobody is forcing you.Besides, by today's standards virtually every governor then was a dictator and, to my knowledge, I think they would prefer to be anti Jew and anti-muslim. After all, Moses is first of all in the Torah and later on in the Kuran and the Bible, if I remember well.
Yay! Fundies turning on Roger Ailes' History channel! The dead Kennedys smile.
"Outraged Citizens Campaign Forces History Channel to Rethink Miniseries About the Kennedys
Robert Greenwald launches growing campaign that calls historically revisionist series backed by a producer with ties to Roger Ailes, "right-wing character assassination."
Every word of that was a lie.
I tell you this: If the Illuminati did exist, modern Christianity would be the best tool they could ever devise.

Go read Numbers 16, where Moses gets his buddy God to suppress a proto-democracy movement. Sounds like a pretty typical dictatorial activity.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
