I never said anything about torture, nor does the Bible say anything about torture. God does not torture anybody - he torments them. Revelation 14:10, 20:10.

Okay, would you mind giving us your definition of "torment", please. Actually, screw that. I'll find it for you.

torment
-verb
to afflict with great bodily or mental suffering; pain: to be tormented with violent headaches.
-noun
a state of great bodily or mental suffering; agony; misery.
something that causes great bodily or mental pain or suffering.
Does that sound familiar in any way?
Well, if he only torments them, then that's fine with me. Gee, thanks, imagine that I've been living up to this moment thinking that God was a torturer, when he was just tormenter. I now stand corrected. I may have to reconsider my life up to now though, I have a lot to reflect upon. My atheism just seems ridiculous, faced with such a loving God that instead of torturing people, he torments them.[/sarcasm]
Ok, maybe I overdid it.
Well, I really felt the urge to hunt you down and kill you after reading that, but don't worry, I have learned moral restraint. I'll just track you down and end your life instead.
"And the plagues? Wasn't that torturing the Pharaoh into getting that one reply?"
Oh, it's even more fun that that suggests. The Bible clearly states that God himself made the Pharaoh refuse to let Moses and the Hebrews out of Egypt by "hardening his heart" after each plague until the last one (killing the firstborn) struck.
So in other words, God arranged for the torment to last a long, long time, apparently just for his own satisfaction.
"God does not torture anybody - he torments them"
So Hell's library consists of books with the last pages torn out, the Blockbuster there has films with the last few minutes removed - especially the porn DVDs - consisting of just the plot scenes, amirite?
Look - either the Lake O'Fire exists, or it doesn't. Make up your minds, whilst you take your dogma for a walk, fundies.
Of course, God doesn't torture, because torture is evil. On the other hand he does used "Enhanced Torment Techniques" which are obviously completely different altogether because it has a different name.
"God does not torture anybody - he torments them."
Okay then. Lie down on this bench, facing upwards. We'll tie you securely to such, place a towel ober your head, and pour water over such. Repeat as necessary. For as long as we see fit.
I'm sure John McCain himself will tell you that Waterboarding is merely 'tormenting'.
I love the smell of destroyed arguments in the morning. Smells like... victory.
Listening to fundies...torture or torment?
Hard to decide.

Plots in porno flicks? Oh, you mean "filler", OK.
"nor does the Bible say anything about torture. God does not torture anybody - he torments them. Revelation 14:10, 20:10."
'Reinterpret' and 'Apologeticise' it any way you like, if it's inflicting pain - and the recipient doesn't like it - it's torture , however you slice it.
...but then, why doesn't the Bible mention Masochists , those who like pain?
'Demons to some, Angels to others'
-Pinhead (leader of the Cenobites), "Hellraiser"
So what is your 'God' gonna do with them, eh? Not torture them...?! For all you know, I could be a masochist, Ceridwen. C'mon, you fundies are supposed to have allp the answers, are you not?! [/smartarse]
Irony of the day:
Apologises for the Judeo-Christian's God's use of torture, sorry torment.
Have the username of a Welsh Celtic Goddess.

In Soviet Britain...:
