Evolutionists are guessing at the age of the earth, the cosmos. No, it is NOT a scientific formula that is used to find the age, it's a guess. Good luck convincing any rational person that a formula IS used.

Even if that were so, I don't suppose your bible provides the said formula, does it?
[crickets chirping]
Right, just as I thought.
Estimating something on available evidence and mathematics is not guessing. "Divine" inspiration is guessing.
Or to put it another way Ol' Beardy in the white shift did not come down and personally oversee the writing and printing of your book of bronze age guesswork.
Science: Light travels at a constant speed C. We can see this far away from us, meaning light has traveled at least this distance. Speed equals distance/time. We know the distance and the speed we can work out time. Pretty basic stuff.
Religion: This book says it, so its true. Even more basic... to the point of being stupid.
Again, for the flock. Things creationists say in attempt to equate science with religious faith. They're not on equal footing with their arguments so they demean all scientific evidence as the same value and research level as their belief.
In the end the same as "oh yeah! I think my Mom would know!"
"insanely precise"
In context, I know what you mean. But define "insanely precise".
I apologize for nit-picking right now and hope you don't see this after reading some of my 'outside the box' posts
Ditto for the 6,000 figure, which was made up by someone in the 17th century, using incomplete and contradictory lists of "begats" from the Bible.
Huh?! There are a bunch of formula you can use, most of them give similar results...so...what is your point? Which formula are you referring to specifically?
ds2=0=c2dt2+((a2dr2)/(1-kr2)) ??
a=e2/(hc4Pie0) ??
Hello??
Confused?
