[responding to an article about a sex offender who wants to go to church]
God wants this guy dead, so you're being kind.

But what would Jesus want? I think he wouldn't turn a criminal away.
On a side note, I notice that fundies rarely conjure the name of Jesus, it's always god, and old testament god at that.
Jesus' teachings must be too kind and forgiving and liberal for fundies.
I think it's funny that god always wants the same people dead as you do.
From what I understand, there are people on the other side of the globe saying their god wants you dead.
Keep praying, it may be the only thing keeping you alive.</sarcasm>
Claiming to know the mind of God and speak on his behalf? Now that's unmitigated arrogance, regardless of one's theology. And it is incredibly vacuous to boot, as several people have shown by pointing out that if an omnipotent deity really wanted this mortal dead, he wouldn't really have a prayer of still being alive.
~David D.G.
If God wants someone dead, why are they still alive? I thought God was omnipotent.
The Fundie God is omnimpotent.
God just has a whole bunch of shit going on right now. He's gotta babysit his chosen leader of the free world, Dubya. He's gotta keep those godless Moslems in check, and don't even expect him to do anything really time consuming until AFTER the NASCAR season is over.
Well, If god wanted this guy dead, wouldn't he do something to make him dead? I mean, your god can do anything, Right?
Then God can strike him down. Hasn't done that, huh? Then how do you know God wants this guy dead?
(Granted, I have no problem with sex offenders being struck down by the hand of God. I just don't see it actually happening.)
Sometimes part of me wishes that Christianity were true, so that I could see the look on the fundies' faces when Jesus returns and they realise that he represents everything they despise - you know, kindness, compassion, empathy and the capacity for forgiveness. Oh, it would almost be worth it.
you know what makes me sick, not this guys comments but the fact that some criminals think they can make everything alright with religion, if you wrong someone, take it up with the victim(s), not some stupid religion, that wont make it alright
jo_27e, you make a good point, and I don't know that forgiveness should automatically be given to a criminal just because he now claims he's got religion.
But claiming that you speak for your Gawd is just as bogus.
Redhunter, do you own stock in keyboard and/or monitor manufacturers? Because I'm beginning to suspect that your incredible, coffee-or-beer-spitting-inducing images are nothing more than attempt to boost sales of keyboards and monitors when we continually ruin them through the aforementioned spittling process.

Especially when they start demanding that he be arrested and executed as a traitor for his blatant anti-American stances.
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA (and so forth)!!!! Love of "god" my ass! I wonder what kind of sins this jerkwad is involved in. Seeing as how he probably supports extortionists, thieves, liars, cheaters, etc.
Y'know...of all the things these guys seem to believe god hates, I would think presuming to know how an omniscient being thinks, and having the audacity to speak for him would probably top the list. Just my speculation.
Paul was a murderer, as I recall, was he not? And Mary Magdalene, a prostitute? Didn't Jesus accept them into his fold? Are you saying you have better judgment than Jesus?
Confused?
