With the theory of the Big Bang it is said that all the matter of the universe was pressed into one spot, spun extremely fast until it exploded and expanded to make the universe. The problem with this is centrifical force says that everything should be spinning the same way. The problem is in our own galaxy there are three planets spinning backwards, we see other galaxies spinning backwards, several moons through out galaxy are spinning backwards. The Big Bang is a big dud!!!

Alex W., you can go to "Answers in Genesis" at www.answersingenesis.org for Ken Ham who is at least semi-sane enough to distance himself from 'Dr.' Hovind, AKA "Dr. Dino," at www.drdino.com who is truly a nut.
As to why they listen to them... they require a literal Word of God understanding of Genesis or their whole belief system starting with creation to sin to Jesus comes crashing down. Other Christian groups make varying degrees of acceptance with current science, but the fundies consider them apostates. To summarise their arguements, they hold Genesis talks about days rather than periods. If evolution or an old earth exists, then death preceded the Fall. In the fundie mindset, no animal died before Eve and Adam ate the wrong fruit. When that happened, the world somehow changed. Thorns grew, pregnancy hurt more, people had to work for a living, humans and animals started to die. On New Testament matters, Jesus and Paul both talk about the beginning. Jesus indicates that male and female were made in the beginning and talks about the end times as being similar to the days of Noah. Paul went further in his arguement for what became known as original sin. He argues that sin entered the world via one man (Adam) and was vanquished by another (Jesus), who was not cursed with a sin nature like everyone else since Adam and Eve. Other religious groups have different theologies, but the fundamentalists require a literal, "plain reading" approach. This position is why they will fight so hard against evolution in schools. They are not just worried about the Bible; they believe that evolutionary theory literally endangers the eternal souls of their children.

This is like the three different views of the Constitution:
The "Plain Language" view is strictly constructionist; what is said IS what is. [This, of course, represents the fundies]. The "Original Intent" view looks (surprisingly enough) at the original intent of the framers. [These are moderately sane fundies; they are at least tolerable] The "Living Document" view states that we must continually reinterpret the Constitution based on the conditions that exist now. [These would be the fundies who are reasonable people, who accept science, and only have a few delusions remaining]. That said, Hovind falls squarely into the "Plain Language" view of the Wholly Babble, which, of course, makes him a total loony. He is, to quote something I saw here, 'bonkers for Jesus'.

Fundie on Science Test Rant Engaged. Magnetism explains the Fall! We know people can have mystical experiences when magnets get near them, so God must work through magnets. That means the apple tree had iron or another magnet in it so that he could do his work on Adam and Eve when they ate the apple! And since magnetism has healing powers it makes sense that a magnetic tree could teach them good and evil, [stylemimic] LOGIC!!!!!!!! lol [/stylemimic] Plus where did the water for the flood come from? Mars! It has water, but it doesn't have much, so it must have gone to Earth, because we know from NASA that Mars had life but it doesn't now so why? Obviously, God made Mars come to Earth to make it rain! And [bad spelling/grammar] athiest's [/bad spelling/grammar] always say that if there was a Flood where did all the bugs and fish and creatures go they came from Mars of course! Genesis says God created "the heavens and the Earth" and Mars is part of the heavens so why couldn't there have been fish from Mars? And since Mars doesn't have a magnetic field but the Earth does so didn't Mars loose its gravity when it gave water to Earth? And Mars has radio isotopes so thats why it says Earth is a billion years old sometimes, [bad grammar] its [/bad grammar] only 6000 years old [stylemimic] LOL!!!!!!!!!!! [/stylemimic]. End Test Rant This Fundiesque (tm) rant was only a test. If it were a real pseudoscientific rant it would have included Bible-thumping, mouth-foaming, and a few threats of magical torture. Anyway, I was trying to see if I could come up with one of their rants. Is it realistic? You can come up with one too, but keep in mind: I was up all night last night, so I had the advantage of sleep deprivation when writing all of this. If there is a public outcry, I shall delete this post.

Hovind was my first and heaviest studied creatard. His arguments are a compilation of every stupid argument that previous creationists played OVER FIFTY YEARS AGO plus some totally wackadoo claims slightly suggested, out of context, non-defined, quote mined scriptural nonsense turned into the worst pseudo science presently presented.

He was my 'FUCK CREATIONISTS' hobby years ago but until that full-time loser gets outta jail (for immense stupidity about laws ) It's become William Laing (Philisophical Bullshit) Craig recently.

It's an old claim that Hovind hijacked that "everything must spin the same way" outta the Big Bang. There's no scientific principle that suggests this, that the Big Bang singularity was spinning, YES, that the throw off would be spinning, YES, that it wouldn't collide with others or be under forces that would reverse that, NO, that it took billions of years to reach a DIFFERENT balance, YES!

Everything spinning the same way would be proof of an agenda, an astetic, a planned universe. Creationists claim the universe is perfect, ordered and balanced, then they claim the fact it's not is some divine revelation.

Worse, many fundamentalists claim everything DOES spin the same way.
