Anyone who is not a true Bible-believing Christian is a satanist. (Matthew 12:30) Sodomites are just one type of satanist, but there are many others, e.g. Catholics. All of them have one thing in common--they cannot love. Because only Christians are capable of real love.
As one renowned pastor once said:
"As to LOVE, love (Agape) is the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5). Only true Christians have the Holy Spirit, therefore only Christians can love. Love implies unselfish devotion to the best for another, love "seeks not its own." Therefore, love is impossible for the natural man, who by nature seeks his own, his own selfish good ahead of his neighbor's. When a person trusts Christ as his Savior, the miracle of the new birth occurs. Before regeneration, man has a heart like a rock, now after conversion he has a heart that is soft and receptive to the Holy Spirit.
And that is one way a man knows he is born again, he finds himself loving his enemies and wanting their good.
Fondness (phileal love for someone based upon the desirableness of the object) is possible for the natural man and is erotic "love."
A Godly man loves (agape, unselfish seeking of the other's good) his wife because God has told him to do this, also because the Holy Spirit leads him to love and produces that love like "fruit." Love is the result of abiding in (fellowship with) Christ. The love of Christ constrains us. As we meditate upon His love for us, particularly shown at Calvary, we are moved to love back. "
