[Response to topic about a jesus camp survivor]
Did you ever stop and ask yourself that maybe this movie is playing upon a cirtain edge, trying to get viewers to look at this 'horrible travesty' and become idiots like yourself? If you're a non christian, then you probably never were a real christian to begin with. Don't lie to yourself because you're just falling into another trap. I'm sorry man. It's all just a big trap of one side promising one thing, the other giving you reality which promises you another. You'll never be secure in this life; culturally, you need something to depend on that gives you answers. It's in you're genes. It's who you are. I know you. I've seen you. I am you.

I'm guessing this tard hasn't seen the movie yet. The filmmakers kept their biases out.
I wish I could have seen it, but it's not playing near me. I live in Washington, D.C. Does anyone know if it's playing in the D.C./MD/NoVA metro area?
Guess what? I don't like the answers Christianity gives. I don't expect all the answers. I don't care about having all the answers. Whem there's a question I can't answer myself, I get input from those more experienced than myself. And you know what? The spiritual bullshit? I can figure that out on my own.
So, this guy goes to this camp and warns about the problems there and you say "you were no-Christian to begin with"(like saying, that he has not voice there). The sadness is that he was and he deconverted as a result. He knows what he´s talking about NOT YOU.
you need something to depend on that gives you answers
In one word: Evidence.
Synopsized:
If you were a REAL Christian, you wouldn't have suffered a crisis of faith! You pathetic weakling! Plus, I really like the Police's song "Every Breath You Take!"
The response: When did you start to think I'm not a real Christian? Also, Eeww. I think I'll get a restraining order!
@ Mary Sunshine:
Touch-a, touch-a, touch-a, touch me!
I wanna be dirty!
Thrill me, chill me, fulfill me!
Creature of the night!
"If you're a non christian, then you probably never were a real christian to begin with."
If you mean I never believed any stupid thing a preacher said just because he said it, then yes, I was never a christian.
So by the same logic, born again Christians were always Christians, so they didn't actually need to go to the bother of accepting Christ or any of that crap after all, and could just march straight in to heaven.
"I know you. I've seen you. I am you."
What. The. Fuck.
Sociopathy dead ahead, folks.
Anyone else imagine Charles Manson?
newhawaiianburgerjoint, for a commenter/reviewer on IMDB, you sure talk like someone who hasn't seen "Jesus Camp". If you had, you'd know it's a documentary. It doesn't have narration by it's producers/directors Heidi Ewing & Rachel Grady, thus they couldn't twist or take out of context what they recorded, nor display bias or promote their own agenda (unlike Michael Moore). They merely recorded what they saw - 'as it happened'. And what it was that happened which Heidi & Rachel recorded speaks for itself: the unimaginable evil of Right-wing Fundamentalist Christianity. .
What Becky Fischer did to those kids was nothing less than psychological torture. Never mind her camp being shut down as a result of the film's release, why she isn't in the slammer right now for child abuse, is beyond me. Becky's now a nobody. As is Ted Faggard, also featured in that film. Coincidence? You decide. Such is the fate of those who have their evil exposed. And they deserve to be destroyed.
As for you, newhawaiianburgerjoint, if this is what your 'faith' means to you, I'm not sorry man. It's all just a big trap of one side promising one thing, the other giving you reality which isn't religious lies. You'll never be secure in this life; culturally, you need a crutch called 'Faith' to depend on that gives you 'answers'. It's in you're genes. It's who you are. I know you. I've seen you. I'm glad I'm not you.
Confused?
