Variation happens. Variation is not evolution.

"Variation is not evolution."
Only according to Creationists, and their concerted attempts to redefine words to better suit their arguments. It's why the little imps are so beloved in most circles...
Variation, as in breeds of dog aren't evolution.
But dogs evolved from canis lupus and canis rufus. You fail!
Variation IS evolution! When certain variations are more successful than others, they tend to breed more often and reach maturity more often. When mixed with environmental pressures, speciation occurs. Tada! Micro-evolution!
As species diverge, they begin to look different, carrying differing traits to extremes or adapting to further environmental changes or pressures until they scarcely look like the species from which they branched. Tada! Macro-evolution!
weak-mindedness seems to be a rather successful trait. Woe for the human race.
If variation isn't evolution, then what exactly is evolution?
It's changes in the variation over time. jinx72 is actually correct, although in a completely meaningless and unhelpful way.
"Speed happens. Speed is not acceleration."
The preceding statement is true , it just doesn't actually mean that acceleration does not exist. It doesn't even imply that acceleration doesn't exist.

When a lizard gives birth to a bird, of course![/fundie]
Yeah, you see, you just say, "Variation happens." But the scientists say, "Why does variation happen?"
That's why they'll always know more than you do. Because they seek that knowledge out.
Oh, and the answer they found to their question? Yeah, it's "Evolution."
Shit happens
You're proof.
"Variation happens. Variation is not evolution."
If a genetic varition gives an individual a breeding and/or survival benefit, it is evolution.
Variation cause evolution
With variation, over a long enough time evolution WILL happen. Tell me how it could possibly not, I can easily tell you why it must. Unlike the existance of your God, we have proof, we have logic - we do not have faith.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
