But the "sound" reasoning used by the likes of Richard Dawkins has done the human race far more harm than you could ever imagine.

Not really.
...and the only 'Sound' are your whines: Via the sharp stings of Reality inflicted on your But (t), doing more harm to Fundieism than you could ever imagine. >:D
The rational thinking advocated by the likes of Dawkins has not been associated with the mindsets behind religious or political extremists. In fact, it acts as a deterrent, for with better education and critical thinking, the person is more likely to be skeptical of an ideology which promises future glories upon joining and nurtures a burning commitment to the cause.
As opposed to the "sound" reasoning behind completely unsupported concepts as a young earth and creationism, among a whole slew of others in the Bible?
Yeah, no. I'll continue to agree with Dawkins.
The "harm" is probably condemning people to hell or something like that.

Yep. Boy, are these fundies so predictable because their minds never change?
"promotion of beliefs which have zero facts to back them up is what continues to be the greatest cause of harm."
An argument for closing down every church, chapel, mosque and temple in the country.
What harm has reasoning such as his done?
Burned wise old women at the stake? Nah, that was religion.
Forced people to have more kids than they can afford to take care of? Nah, that was religion.
Impeded scientific breakthroughs making life easier and safer for us all? Nah, that was religion.
Made people kill each other over which version/idea is the Right One? Nah, that was religion.
Forced women to be stay-at-home moms at the age of 13, thus depleting the population of their possible contributions to society, had they been educated? Nah, that was religion.
Etc, etc, etc, etc...
Just to note Alan Burns' clarification of the harm was as follos
' People like Dawkins and the recently deceased Hitchens are examples of the modern trend towards aggressive atheism which not only promotes the idea of a Godless world, but openly attacks and tries to ridicule the faith of Christians. This is harmful because it endangers the eternal salvation of those human souls who are taken in by it. '
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
