The powers that be think that everyone MUST be forced to pay for contraception for the YES, slutty life style of Sandra Fluck who gave a speech at the Democratic convention bemoaning that we don’t pay for her contraception. (Rush Limbaugh got in lots of trouble for saying she is a slut, yet it is Sandra who wants to live a life of sex where everyone else pays to keep her from getting pregnant). Why must I as a Christian, who thinks such behavior abysmal, sinful and self destructive pay for her to have sexcapades without consequences?

Slutty? What did your role-model say about straws and beams, already?
Contraception fills a use in today's society, preventing pregnancies women do not want and society cannot afford.
What use theology fills in today's society is quite a bit more debatable...
Sarah Fluke wasn't speaking for herself, as she is a lesbian. She was speaking for other women, ones who can not afford to pay for the contraceptives to treat chronic conditions because they are in college and have to work their way through school. This was not about avoiding pregnancy.
The lies that were circulated about this via Limbaugh and Faux Nooze do not count as either truth or information. At least take the time and initiative to look into what they're feeding you.
Oh, FFS
1. Sandra Fluke spoke about medical treatments not related to sexual intercourse but using the pill as medicine.
2. We have no idea whether or not Sandra Fluke is a slut, and neither is it any of our business to a) know and b) judge her.
3. You didn't have to pay chickenshit. The insurance provider Miss Fluke talked about denied such an option even though more than 90% of students - who are the only ones financing such insurances - want such treatment to be an option.
4. If you don't like that plans have to provide this drop out of one and pray to your god that he might keep you healthy.
People are going to have sex. They just are. We know this for certain.
So, in order to minimise STDs and unwanted pregnancies, isn't it sensible to provide free contraception for some people?
When I was a student, I was able to go down to a building on the campus and just grab loads of condoms from a big sort of tray that was in the hall. Why was it free? Because students are poor.
Well, I have to pay for faith-based initiatives where religious organizations get tax dollars to preach to people, so suck it up and shut up.
And just think, the more you pay for other people's contraception means that fewer abortions will occur. You Christians want to reduce the number of abortions, right? Or would you rather pay more in tax dollars because single mothers need welfare? There's just no pleasing you people.
Da powers dat be think dat everyone MUST be forced ta pay fo' constipation fo' tha YES, supa-hoty thuglife steez of Sandra Fluck whoz ass gave some noize all up in tha Democratic convention bemoanin dat our crazy-ass asses donât pay fo' her constipation. I aint talkin' bout chicken n' gravy biatch. (Rush Limbaugh gotz up in fuckin shitloadz of shizzle fo' sayin her ass be a supa-ho, yet it aint nuthin but Sandra whoz ass wantz ta live a thuglife of sex where everyone else pays ta keep her from gettin pregnant). Why must I as a Christian, whoz ass be thinkin dat such behavior abysmal, sinful n' self destructizzle pay fo' her ta bust a nutcapades without consequences?
Oh? And yet you Christians have no problem protecting child rapists, something that actually is abysmal and destructive to others. Until you address that problem, your words mean nothing. Why should we, as humans, suffer your kind's presence on our planet?
And it's Sandra FLUKE ! I know the religious tend to be walking egos, especially concerning women, but at least get people's names right (and yes, I know your doctrine says otherwise but women are people, unlike you)!
Why must I as a woman, who thinks such behavior abysmal, have my reproductive rights dictated to me by a bunch of sexist old men?
Glenn-I hope you trip & land balls first on a railroad spike.
"Why must I as a Christian, who thinks such behavior abysmal, sinful and self destructive pay for her to have sexcapades without consequences?"
- Would you rather she produce children that need to be cared for by the state? I suppose you could say "let them starve," but that's not very Christian of you, is it?
Why must I as a Christian, who thinks such behavior abysmal, sinful and self destructive pay for her to have sexcapades without consequences?
A much better question would be why do you, a self-proclaimed "Christian", think you have any business being a judgmental asshole when your lord and savior condemns such behavior in the bible? Do you think the rules don't apply to you? Also, as everyone else has said, Sandra is a lesbian and was speaking for women who need birth control for medical reasons, which you would know if you actually took some time to do some research instead of jumping the conclusion that best fits into your hateful and judgmental view of others.
Glenn, you are a cluless, misogynist fuck. Not only do you have no right to judge (Matthew 7:1 in a book you no doubt never read, but misquote ad nauseum), but 'slutty' is not a word that you are capable of understanding. Those of us who do understand it are definately having more fun than your god allows you to have. What a shame...
" Why must I as a Christian, who thinks such behavior abysmal, sinful and self destructive pay for her to have sexcapades without consequences?"
For the same reason I have to pay for wars I don't agree with. We all have our "cross" to bear.
The poor freak obviously didn't bother listening to what Ms. Fluke said. Her point was that she thinks that the health insurance, that people pay for, should cover contraceptives. And they should especially be covered when they are necessary for any of a number of health problems aside from contraception.
Why must I, as an atheist, stand by while pastors tell their flocks that voting for anyone but the latest GOP hero-of-the-month is a sin worthy of damnation, and then turn right around and claim tax exempt status for their church because of the separation of church and state?
No,, seriously, why must I?
Dr. Shrinker, well said, re your comment on page two. Re your comment on page one, he's a Republican pundit, so yeah, birth 'em and let 'em starve is kind of a given.
1477959, if I could figure out what in the nine hells your comment was supposed to mean in English I *might* agree with you. On the other hand I *might* want to put you through an industrial wood chipper. Can someone translate that from mildly racist idiot to English, please?
I don't like smoking but I'm not on a crusade to let insurance companies refuse to cover chemo and radiation for lung cancer.
I'm not a big sports guy, but I din't want to let insurance companies refuse to pay for physical therapy and concussion treatments.
What IS it with Fundies and sex hang-ups?! God said "Be fruitful and multiply..." and how do you do THAT without sex?! You are allowed to enjoy sex...if you don't it's practically rape! Glenn is bitching about contraceptives?! Give me a BREAK! At least Sandra isn't getting abortions! Frankly, Glenny, I don't give a Fluck (sorry, couldn't resist :p)!
Well, Mr Moron, the thing is, health insurance (that these women PAY for) is supposed to cover prevention too, not just reparative care, and since the pill can prevent a number of conditions, including but not limited to that most undesirable STI, pregnancy (see below), it very much should be covered.
image
The health plan she pays for covers the pill everywhere else except Catholic organizations. She gets no discount from regular rates and is therefor paying for a service with reduced benefits due to church interference.
The Church doesn't own or run the insurace company and has NO RIGHT to dictate it's policy.
AND
YOU ARE NOT PAYING ANYTHING FOR SARAH FLUKES COVERAGE.
@Revenge of the Whacky Fundie:
Damn you for giving that link! Now I have to go on an archive binge, and I have still about 15 tabs from tvtropes open! How am I supposed to find time for that!?
Isn't it ANNOYING when I type RANDOM words in caps to TRY to make my POINT seem more VALID that IT actually is? With that said, I can now safely say that the actual point you are trying to make is complete dog-shit. You believe what Rush Limbaugh says, so your point is automatically invalid.
Nice to see you are A-ok with insurance covering Viagra. Those dirty old white slutty men!
Your sexism is showing. Men are allowed (and encouraged) to fuck everything that moves, but women must deny their sexuality and be ashamed.
It's all moot anyway, since this woman wasn't referring to preventing pregnancy.
Now go fist yourself, fuck stick.
Glenny Boy, we have to pay for your wars which we don't agree with...but we don't complain about that.
Your ilk have no problem with funding Viagra.
And finally, even if Ms. Fluke was a red-hot sex-nymph (which she isn't & the B.C. pills are for her friend's medical condition)...WHO CARES?! I DON'T! I'd rather see satyrs & nymphs (so-called 'lotharios' & 'sluts') practice safer sex that have them unprotected & spreading God-knows-what!
Now...about them wars.....
You know, I approve of what Sandra Fluke did. She wasn't speaking for herself, she was speaking for a friend of hers with polycystic ovary syndrome. She was easing or trying to ease someone else's path, rather than her own. I admire this.
@SpukiKitty
@ Reckoner & Shockna
YOU MEAN THIS GUY USED TO BE NORMAL?!
Sane non-zealot become zealot nutcase! Now THAT'S TRAGIC! What sort of situation would've made him throw his brain in the garbage?
Brain damage, maybe?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
