Pederasty, also known as Man/Boy Sex, is the overlapping common core of the now open male homosexual and still hidden male pedophile communities. It involves primarily sexual relationships between adult men of any age and boys roughly from age 7 to 17. It is the most common form of homosexual relationship in history and the means by which a great many young men are recruited into a life-long homosexual identity.

a) You can't turn a boy gay by having sex with him. You apparently can't even turn a boy gay by doing a sex change operation on him and raising him as a girl.
b) The sex of the victim has nothing to do with the pedophile's adult sexual orientation. Most pedophiles who molest boys are either heterosexual in their adult relationships or have no adult sexual orientation.

Gays are not pedophiles, just by statistics there happens to be a higher percentage of pedophiles among them.
Obtaining good stats on a subset of only about 5 % of the Western population is an immediate problem but patterns do emerge.

the Roman Catholic Church has paid a high price for their policy of Catholic Priests not marrying - they've paid a high price and are continuing to do so.
The Islamic separation of girls and boys at puberty means that there is an underground of gay living in Saudi Arabia.
Both circumstances are the arbitrary unnatural 'traditions' of man.
One more reason I think Gay is largely a social circumstance, biology playing a minor role, if any.

@ Hasan: I'd say it's more like they now see it as useless to push their agenda. The thing I've seen time and again is Churches using Scouting as a recruitment tool, not as a good thing for the community (which it's supposed to be). There are exceptions, of course, but they're rare.
Hell, the church my Cub Scout pack was originally based at saw us as a way of making money .
