Good Article. And even better comments section! Sorry that there are so many God haters though. Witchcraft and demon procession are real and have been around since the beginning of time. But one comment I must reply to- Steven Sandersons. Yes, Americas founding Fathers were some of the richest best educated men of their time. But loving Europe or even holding it in high esteem? Come now. I believe the revolution settled that question.

Rebelling against rule by England =/= Having a massive-hate-on for all of Europe.
or:
So that's why France helped us out with that one
Because we hated all of Europe, which includes them.
Acutally, from what I have read the Founding Fathers did indeed hold Europe in high esteem, and it was with great relctance that they fought for independence. Not because they did not belive in it, but because they loved Europian socity so much.
Wait...
gawd created witchcraft and demon possesion? Since they were around before man and all that tripe.
I'm beginning to think your gawd is a dick, making all this evil shit.
To all non-Americans on this board, not all of us Americans think this way and are embarassed when our citizens say things like this, or "freedom fries", or other such non-sense like that. We appreciate and respect our allies and friends.
@ Reverend Jeremiah: I cringed when I heard the term "freedom fries."
my dear T Stewart: ever been to Europe? There's an arse load of history, architecture, art, FOOD :), etc. over across the Pond. Don't knock it.
Wow. I want to see a demon procession! I hear they have excellent pyrotechnic displays.
Reverend Jeremiah: I only call them "freedom fries" if they're "free" of calories. In other words, never.
And why does no one ever mention "liberty cabbage?"
Europe means a lot more that the anglophone area. Many of the founding fathers were oriented towards France rather than Britain.
Vive la France! She gave you Lady Liberty, the Archangel of all Liberals! But the American revolutions hasn't happened - yet! It could be around the corner if America is allowed to sink any further, though. There are many Americans who, properly, are upset by the bad deal they've been getting over the past 8 years.
I have a vision of a Mardi Gras (French!!!!) of Demons all got up in their best cozzies and ready to march down Main Street America led by a band of devils playing jazz. But somehow I think you meant possession - like owning a house, you know? Then there is re-possession (after foreclosure) which is what pastors try to do in Jayzuz'z name. But it doesn't always work.
A final point. You have omitted quite a few apostrophes. Please learn all about them and how to use them. It would be so much more pleasant then to read you turgid shite if you did.
@Reverend Jeremiah
Oh, believe me. I'm aware that the people who end up getting heard are usually the vocal minority...and unfortunately, outside of a few rare cases, IQ tends to decrease as volume increases...
I just cringed when I heard the "Freedom Fries" crap, though. A country that has nothing to do with an event refused to be dragged into a war that was essentially an international embarrassment in waiting. In my eyes, they should have been applauded...not reviled.
My parents told my sister and me there was no such thing as witches, or ghosts or monsters when we were kids. It made scary shows on TV or scary stories that much easier to deal with when we were little. If a five-year-old knows there's no such thing as witches, but I'll watch it on Scooby-Doo just the same, why does an adlult still believe in them? Are you really that dumb?
Yeah, just look at the disdain they bore France.
I love my country, but I might shout "USA" louder if the rest of the crowd doing it wasn't so stupid.
"I believe the revolution settled that question. "
That's not entirely untrue. I believe, however, we may be thinking of entirely different revolutions and drawing entirely different conclusions.
The revolution was about taxation without representation and had nothing to do with hating Europe. In fact, if it weren't for France (a European nation, Stew, in case you didn't know) we'd probably never had won.
You misspelled "demon precession."
A demon's rotational axis goes through one complete precession cycle once every 22,000 years, just like the Earth does.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
