The latter two versions are favored by powerful Transnational Progressive New Age occult insiders such as Marilyn Ferguson, Robert Muller and Barbara Marx Hubbard as well as by channeling cults who are excitedly 'receiving revelations' from discarnate entities calling themselves the Space Brothers, the Council of Nine, Transcended Masters, and more recently, the ancient Ennead of Egypt.

Panspermia does not make any claim about highly evolved beings. Microbes riding a meteorite lobbed into space after their home planet was hit by an asteroid would be an acceptable delivery mechanism.

To be fair, the Kimball isn't endorsing or giving any credence to the nutjob New Agers mentioned, nor is she suggesting they are involved in any sort of evolutionist conspiracy. All she is doing (which is quite bad enough) is trying to ridicule evolutionary theory by associating it with New Age woo. Not sure where the quote belongs, but I don't think it's CSTDT.
Yeah, New Age occultists aren't seen as people who can relied on to come up with viable scientific theories. I mean, 2012 and the notion that the Aztecs/Maya/Egyptians/whoever were actually ancient astronauts has long since been disproven.
Any scientist worth their salt has accepted evolution as a perfectly valid theory. They may not agree as to whether or not it's completely accurate, but the basic idea is accepted.
Why exactly wouldn't these highly advanced races communicate in a normal fashion? I mean if they've visited here long ago, they must have ships or a way to physically get here.

Um, punctuated equilibrium isn't a "version" of evolution[ism? wtf? you make it sound like an ideology], it's a relatively new theory as to how evolution proceeds. There's gradualism, which has species evolving at a fairly steady rate throughout time; and then there's punctuated equilibrium, which has species mostly undergoing a few very small changes, followed by a "boom" of large changes that produce a new species. For the love of God, I learned this in grade 12 biology. Ever considered going to summer school to update your knowledge? I might end up doing that, because I want to still be "smarter than a fifth grader" in 15 years. It might be a good idea, seeing as I've been learning in high school what my parents still haven't learned in their 40s and 50s. I tell them stuff we're learning and they're like "What?"
Panspermia isn't a "version" of evolution either. In fact, it isn't evolution at all. If anything, it's a different version of abiogenesis. It's the theory that life on Earth originally started on another planet, rather than on Earth itself.
