I'm concerned with how bloodthirsty liberals get over a wrongful shooting by a cop.
To me the crime merits far less of a punishment than a normal person committing the same offense. As part of a cop's job, he's routinely sent into dangerous situations that most of us will never encounter - it's extremely stressful. It's an unfortunate reality that he's more likely to panic and shoot someone that your average joe is.
Obviously, someone who shoots someone illegally while working as a cop needs to be fired immediately, and I think a short jail term is appropriate, but by no means do I think he deserves to be put on trial for murder.

Well, then, I would recommend that any person with any power over the OP abuse that power as much as possible. After all, the OP seems OK with that.
I would hope that a trained police officer would in fact be less likely to panic and shoot someone in the same situation than your average joe. In the same way that I would hope a race-car driver would be better at driving under pressure and not crashing than your average joe, and a firefighter would be better at not panicking in a burning building than your average joe.
If a cop wrongfully shoots someone, through negligence or intent, it should be processed in exactly the same way as if anyone shoots someone no matter how stressful their job is.
Fine with me, shithead - so long as you're the next one cops use for target practice.
That's the reason for the trial, to establish PUBLICLY whether what he has done is justifiable or not. We need to have confidence in our police officers, and that means that the public has a right to know if we are safer around a cop, or more in danger around a cop.

By your logic, the fact that Hillary Clinton handled lots of classified materials, meaning she was more likely to mishandle classified material, means she should be held LESS accountable for any compromised data, right?

I would like to think that it was not a coincidence that the first of Robocop's prime directives was "Serve the public trust".
Considering the role of police officers in society they should, if anything, be held to a higher moral and legal standard than other citizens.

We don't give people jail sentences without putting them on trial first, numbnuts. It's in the Constitution.

I'd say we ought to hold police officers to a higher standard than ordinary people, not a lower one.
Besides, people reaching for their wallet, people holding their hands above their heads, people lying on the ground with their hands on their back, people sleeping in their own home, etc are not extremely stressful.
How do you shoot someone legally? Murder is illegal, and no western country (except the US) has the death penalty.
