Protestants have done many bad things through the history, while the catholic church has almost never done anything wrong. We should be proud of the heroic crusaders who should role models for us, and for the holy inquisition who saved many from hell by silencing false converts.
[Don't you have enough problems in the "great white North" to keep you occupied?] We have, and the only solution is a coup like General Franco's. The "archbishop" of the Lutheran state "church" are going to speak on Stockholm gay pride, he deserve a nail in his neck!

Shit.
Besides the cannibalism of the crusades, the inquisition, and WW2, the catho-licks have , in the past two days, done an awful lot of bad.
"while the catholic church has almost never done anything wrong."
Witch Trials.
"We should be proud of the heroic crusaders who should role models for us"
Like the child molesters?
"and for the holy inquisition who saved many from hell by silencing false converts."
Like yourself?
Funny, the Protestants have the same "the only bad things were done by those other guys" stance in regards to you Catholics. Somehow, I think that the truth is somewhere inbetween either one of your sects being inherently evil.
... coup like Franco's?
the Catholic Church-backed coup of Franco's?
a military coup in Sweden, which has a small professional army (compared to the rest of the world)?
bwahaha.
Sorry Zeth, but you really need to read some history books on the Crusades. The first crusade(the only truly successful one at taking back the Holy Land) killed more Eastern Orthodox Christians, Coptic Christians, and Jews than Muslims.
I would use my bullshit meter, but it only goes up to stench factor 10.
If you took out all the mistranslations, misinterpretations, Babylonian novella, distortions, embellishments, propaganga, flights-of-fancy and out-and-out lies, the Bible would be left with only 11200 truthful entries - the word "AND" written 11200 times.
Did you know Jesus is mentioned more times in the Koran than he is in the bible?
Gee, Zeth, I don't think these people are going to be persuaded. Would you like to know why your comments fall on deaf ears?
BECAUSE YOU ARE A FRIGGIN' IDIOT!!!
Protestants have done many bad things through the history, while the catholic church has almost never done anything wrong.
Just at the top of my head: the Dark Ages, the witch hunts, the inquisition, the crusades, and the relocation and protection of pedophilic priests are all things the catholic church is responsible for, and those are not good things.
We should be proud of the heroic crusaders who should role models for us, and for the holy inquisition who saved many from hell by silencing false converts.
You really need to open up a history book on these subjects.
@Freboy
Ahahaha, definitely. And at the same time they should swing by Norway - I'm salivating already, just at the thought. Shit like that really doesn't fly well over here.
Oh, and Zeth? You are an ass. Try popping open a history book, or - better yet - buy one!
The "archbishop" of the Lutheran state "church" are going to speak on Stockholm gay pride, he deserve a nail in his neck!
Why, does he need an emergency tracheotomy?
he holy inquisition who saved many from hell by silencing false converts.
Would that be the converts who had been converted at sword point to begin with?
I lean toward Poe, but that doesn't make Zeth any less of an ass.
<b>Just at the top of my head: the Dark Ages,</b>
The dark ages were caused by the fall of the Roman Empire and subsequent destabilization of Europe. The church had nothing to do with it. In fact, the church is responsible for preserving many important historical texts (although unfortunately, did deliberately destroy some they disagreed with) and providing some semblance of a stabilizing force (although they certainly should have done a lot of things differently and better).
<b> the witch hunts,</b>
Done by err...puritans....
<b> the inquisition,</b>
which was instigated by the monarchy of spain, and initially opposed by the church which did attempt to rein in some of the inquisition's excesses. Not to downplay the loss of life and use of torture, but less than 2000 people were executed in 350 years. Certainly not a bright spot in the history of the church, but hardly the widespread genocide people like to make it out to be.
<b> the crusades,</b>
No argument on that point
<b>
and the relocation and protection of pedophilic priests</b>
Again, no argument on this point.
The church has done plenty of bad stuff without propagating misconceptions that only weaken arguments when used against people who recognize them as fallacious.
@SeekerDarksteel, victim of Catholic rewrites
"<b> the witch hunts,</b>
Done by err...puritans...."
Google Catholic witch hunts. Catholics indeed totured and killed many accused of witchcraft under at least two Popes, true they stopped but they're still somewhat responsible for reformation sects being influenced by the previous Catholic practices, not to mention that bloody book which to this day supports such shit.
The Catholics did not end the Dark Ages, the church was defanged and the age of enlightenment began as scattered free kingdoms arose. Had Europe not thrown the shackles off the almost total subjecation would have been continued, many still call for it's return in the church and many still think they can bark orders at goverment and the public.
Confused?
