I saw NOTHING on the other site to prove anything about the age of the earth. They saw the 'telltale signs' of the light from the earliest stars. How am I supposed to be able to prove/disprove what they are saying when I don't even understand?

Well most of your compatriots resort to quoting 1 to 2 passages from the bible, then move straight on to Ad Hominem attacks on whoever said what they disagree with, whatever sources they quoted, Darwin and scientists in general. They then follow this up with either claims of persecution by the scientific establishment / liberal media / jewish government, or claims of a vast conspiracy to hide the evidence that they are right. If they can deny a few fundamental truths along the way, or belittle women, minorities or homosexuals, so much the better.
I'd just go with that, JL.
Ah, at long last, an honest ma . . .
Uh . . . oh, shit, he's a fundy. Never mind. Damn, so close.
*sigh* (relights lantern)
I can actually respect this guy. He's saying that he doesn't understand the evidence. Nothing wrong with that. I have no problem with this guy believing whatever he likes, as long as he doesn't try to convert me to his beliefs without evidence. He's honest. We can't all be scientifically minded. Kudos!
You know exactly what to do, then. Whatever it takes to understand. Then you'll be able to disprove what they're saying...
...or not, because you'll understand why they're holding these views.
Either way, you'll be less of an ignorant whiner.
"I don't even understand?"
It's a start.
Google Galileo.
Then there are the 'theory' idiots.
For example:
Group Theory is a done, closed, deal.
Sorry.
Get back to us when you have it, and it's physical consequences, down cold.
So when you don't understand it, ADMIT you don't understand it! Don't then go on to say "I don't know what it is, therefore my mythological sky pixie for which there's no evidence did it".
Saying you don't understand something just means you don't understand it, it DOES NOT mean that your specific sky-pixie exists, or your specific sky-pixie created the universe.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
