The theory of evolution could be dropped out of books today and would never effect the outcome of any field of study.

Sorry fundie, banning the study of evolution doesn't make your creation myth any more true. In a way biology is the least of your problems. Astronomy, geology, chemistry, even simple math (pi=3) make your creation myth seem silly at best.
When was the last time you even touched one of those books, let alone read them? Let me guess, the answer is never, right?
Its not mentioned in the Bible which is the only book those fools ever read so whats the problem?
I love Free Republic entries. People who think Hitler was a pinko because he was a ( National ) Socialist.
Not only vaccines, ever heard of genetic algorithms? One of the more effective approaches to artificial intelligence for design optimisation, information retrieval, expert systems, etc. They operate in precisely the same manner as evolution, and often extremely well.
Ignore evolution, ignore astronomy, ignore physics, ignore biology, ignore chemistry...
Shun medicine, shun electricity, shun hygiene...
Back to the bronze age with you!
You know, he's right. If we drop evolution from books, we'll still have all the digital, audio, and moving-picture evolution material. Or maybe we could start printing it on scrolls, that'd be cool.
Absolutely correct, except for every branch of biology, medicine, eductaion, etc.. It wouldn't effect anything really important though. (wink)
And if we dropped "free republic" from the internet, it would increase the overall intelligence of the whole web ever so slightly. But then where would all the ignorant anti-constitution bigots go to post? Besides it's sort of a one stop shop for stupid, racism, facism and religious prejudice.
"The theory of evolution could be dropped out of books today and would never effect the outcome of any field of study that does not contradict what we claim. Next, we'll attack math, with our secret weapon: the 3.0000 of PI!
Then those heathen calculators will face our Gawd's WRATH! There will be no silicon heaven for them! they will just DIE!"
It would be so instructive to take this guy off to a distant island somewhere, and leave him there. "Here you are ... you claim evolution has no utility value, well now you can live without the things it made possible ... much of medical science for example. Here's your bible, let's see how long you last, shall we?"
What's the betting he'd be screaming to return to nice, comfortable, feather-bedding civilisation in about 30 minutes? Of course we could speed the process up a bit by choosing Komodo Island as his domicile for the duration ... "here you go, say hello to all those big lizards Kent Hovind was talking about" ... ;)
Why, yes, the fields of genetics, immunology, epidemiology, cellular and molecular biology, genomics, even ecology- they wouldn't be affected at all!
It would still be kept in the books by the rest of the industrialized world (yes Creationist, there are countries aside form the US and they are not all filled with terrorists and starving people in need of bibles). The scientific development of those other nations would continue to progress whole America's progress would dwindle to nothing. The same thing happened during the post-Roman Dark Ages (or as your lot calls them, "The good ol' days.")
How can anyone be so dense as to not appreciate that vaccines, the Green Revolution, and most modern drugs require a thorough understanding of evolutionary biology in order to understand?
Without that knowledge, we wouldn't be able to support half the population that we have today.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
