I have been watching Dr. Hovind’s tapes for about 10 years now and I have always thought to myself that he would be assasinated for sticking it the man(evolution theory). I volunteer for personal body guard when he gets out and starts dropping the hammer on them once again. I wonder what they’ll think of next time to shut him up. Truth can’t be silenced.

Shut him up? His shit is comedy gold. Especially that conversation with God bit he did recently.
No, we're going to let him speak for a long time. Such idiocy is a wonderful tool to keep people away from fundamentalism.
Notice how, while real scientists let an idea stand or fall based on its own merits weighed against reality, pseudoscientists and cranks invariably try to back up their assertions by appealing to the authority of their originator, in this case Hovind.
Even entirely nontheistic pseudoscience, like some of the more loony inventions attributed to Nikola Tesla, seems to do this; point out flaws in the assertion and they'll simply say something along the lines of "You don't appreciate Tesla's genius!" - it's effectively the same as religious behaviour.
So wait now, you think that Hovind's tax evasion was "the man keeping him down"? He shirked his duties to pay taxes and for that infraction of national law he was imprisoned. What is so hard to figure out?
Hovind isn't worth a bullet anyway.
I don't get this mssive hard on so many fundies have for Hovind. So many of the things he's said in his lectures have been shown to be either false, hoaxes he fell for or even down right lies. And they seem convinced he didn't do anything wrong, the tax issue was made up as an excuse to shut him up.
I mean I like Richard Dawkins but if what he said was shown (credibly) to be crap, then I'd adjust my opinion of him and his ideas. And if he was convicted of commiting a crime I'd change my opinion of him again (appropriately according to the crime of course) - but I sure as hell would not come to the conclusion that he was framed by religious zealots to shut him up!
Assassinated? How many people IN HISTORY have been assassinated for questioning science?
Religion, ideologies, governments, that's a different matter.
"Truth can't be silenced." Silly me, I thought you were talking about Hovind, Vex, then you threw me when you went off in the opposite direction and started talking about truth. No one assassinates "fools and jesters" it's against all custom.
You know, I'm sure Kent Horvind is on the the secret science hit-list somewhere, I'll just check...
*rummage*
Yes, there he is, just below Erich von Daniken and Michael Drosnin, and just before that TimeCube guy.
Hate to tell poor JakobHarper here, but Hovind isn't Jesus.
I know, I know... it's a shocker.
You see, "real" Christians don't commit crimes. Typically if a Christian commits a crime, then that just proves they weren't a "real" Christian. But if the criminal happens to be someone who questioning their Christianity would make his followers uncomfortable, then the only possible explanation is that it wasn't a "real" crime.
Oh, that's right. He's a freedom fighter , not an idiot douchebag queefer.
Well, I'm glad he's made that distinction.
Ahh, Hovind's only in it for the money...he's such a stingy greedhead, that's what got him in trouble with the law.
"There's a sucker born every minute." How much money have you spent on his bullshit...?
1. Disagreeing wholeheartedly with proven science is not a crime, it's just incredibly ignorant.
2. Lose the persecution complex.
Haha, did anyone read the "Atheist's Response" on freehovind.com?
"Free hovinds? Sounds interesting... Even though I ain't got no purpose for one, it's free nonetheless! And even though I also don't know what a hovind is, I'll still get one, since they are (you guessed it) for free." - Shenda
I wonder why they put that quote up there? It's clearly mocking and it's amusing; you'd think they'd put up an angry, shouty atheist quote to make their case.
"You can't stop the signal, Mal."
These guys suck up to hacks like Hovind because they think it'll get them into heaven.
Pitiful, really.
Nobody tries to shut Kent Hovind up. They just shake their heads and snicker.
His jail sentence has nothing to do with his creationist views. Hovind was turned in to the IRS by a fellow fundamentalist Baptist who thought his tax-evasion was contrary to scripture. Afterwards, he had plenty of opportunities to avoid jail. Instead, he dug in his heels and followed the lame and disproved advice of a guy who makes his living selling "tax protester" books to wishful-thinking suckers who think they can get away with not paying taxes.
There are plenty of tax-paying creationists who are not in jail.
Assassinations seem to be largely a tool of the reactionary and the mentally ill (or, in cases like Lee Harvey Oswald, both). Hovind hasn't pissed off the right reactionaries and I've never heard of the tinfoil hat brigade accusing him of plaguing their dreams with dinosaurs, so I'm guessing he's not much of an assassination risk.
Unless of course he's even more of a pain in the ass in prison than the news reports have so far indicated... but that wouldn't be an assassination so much as a garden-variety shiv in the shower. Or just a beatdown.
You have no idea what truth is do you?
Also, Kent Hovind does a fantastic job of making an idiot of himself, he doesn't need to be silenced.
Why wait, Jake - volunteer early. Go NOW to bodyguard him, there are atheists in prison, too!!!!!!!11!!!!1!!!!!!!
