But it's not like H*m*sexuals are knocking on your door on Sunday afternoons, handing you leaflets that say if you don't turn g*y you will tortured for the rest of your existence.]
You know where the trash can is, correct? If you don't want to read the stuff, toss it. It's your choice.
But h*m*sexuals do call churches and test them on what they allow to go on in their church. This is so they will record what they say pertaining to their lifestyle. And if they can make them say the wrong thing, they get together and file a class action lawsuit to sue the church right out of bussiness.
Now which is worse, the leaflets that can be thrown away?
Or being sued and your whole life ruined?
So don't try the guilt trip game here.

Leaflets are the work of the Devil. Jesus spoke to me and told me so. Meanwhile, it doesn't matter if you are sued and your whole life is ruined because this life doesn't matter. Only the fate of your eternal soul matters. You see everything else is just to test you for when you get to those gates...Or at least that's what some of your fundie friends seem to spout. It makes about as much sense as your ramblings.
Your assumption is totally erroneous. For one, going from door to door IS HARRASMENT, and the JW are particularly keen on that. Second, the lawsuits have to do WITH SECULAR CHOICES, such as housing, work or civil rights, not with who goes to church or not.
Which is worse, homosexuality, or lying about homosexuality?
You can't sue a church because of its theology, regardless of how many times you have a wet dream about it.
Our legal system doesn't work that way, but I would enjoy the pwnage if it did. Hell, even if the church just lost its npo status and tax breaks, that would make me grin.
If what you describe were happening, then why wouldn't you do what Jesus said to do when you are persecuted for His name's sake? You have read enough of the Bible to know what I'm talking about, right?
Actually, the asterisks aren't ikester's doing. That site has a word filter on it because the owner doesn't want his site popping up in searches for "gay", "porn", "homosexual" or whatnot.
Ikester7579: You can write the word GAY, it's not like it's obscene or anything. Not only do HOMOSEXUALS call churches, they become members of churches that don't preach irrational hatred of GAYS and LESBIANS. If you want I can star out all the vowels in gay, lesbian and homosexual so you understand what I've said
Funnily enough, I do know someone who was converted to teh gay by a door to door homosexual. When I was about 15, the woman over the road was seduced by the Avon lady, and left her husband and ran off with her. Big scandal!
You fuckers don't pay taxes, so either jesus loves ALL the little children, or he finds his ass in court.
GUILT TRIP? Nia please, you christians invented that shit.
Whoa, we gays do all that? News to me, brainless. Some of us are christian--don't ask me why--and are trying to find a church to worship in where they'd be accepted AS EQUALS AND PEOPLE. Funny thing, wanting equal rights.
But then, I'm a Pagan--what the hell would I know about fundys? (Plenty--used to be one!)
Nobody can file a class action lawsuit against a church for denying someone the right to worship there. Churches are free to limit their membership as they see fit. Just like the Boy Scouts.
If I was going to choose a church to attend, I might shop around to find one that suited me best. If they were homophobic, I'd want to know that so I could avoid them.
Ike seems intent on creating Himalayas out of anthills. What's his beef? Tinfoil hat too tight?
As churches are private institutions, they can't be sued. The only cases where such a case has been made is when they hire people for a paid job or offer something that falls into the category of public service. Render Caesar, dear.........
Bitch, please.
PROOF OR GTFO.
It's more the calling on Sundays and the threat of hell, than the leaflets, which is a nuisance.
Evidence for homosexuals trying to trip churches into being anti-human-rights, please.
A good way to reduce the "risk" of those kinds of lawsuits, is to do like Jesus told you, and welcome everyone to the church.
If you're not homophobic, you don't run the risk of being called out on your homophobia.
Homosexuals don't talk about "lifestyles", only homophobes do. Homosexuals have very similar "lifestyles" to heterosexuals, the only difference, really, is the genders involved.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
