At 14 most likely YOU do not know if you a gay or not. Almost every male's first experience is with a member of the same sex.

If you got US $1 for every anti-gay fundie who focuses on gay males because "they screw each other up the ass and that's GROSS!!!" but doesn't mind gay females because "Girl On Girl Is Hot!!" how much money would you get?
If you're talking about the kiddish, "I'll show you mine if you show me yours", it probably is. That is curiosity and rebellion, not sexual attraction.
Dude, I realized I was straight when I was 12 and realized I enjoyed seeing those middle school cheerleaders in their outfits on Fridays before a game. I imagine it may be possible that someone's body delays puberty until age 15 but I'm guessing it's the exception, not the rule.
And is there something you want to tell us about your first sexual experience being with someone of the same sex? Because that never happened to me.
Happened to me, 'cept I never bought into that whole thing that it's wrong, therefore, I grew up moderately well adjusted considering my past.
Yeah, and then they never call.
I think "almost every" is a bit exaggerated. Puberty is a bitch. I knew I was straight* at age 11 when Bugs Bunny in drag was turning me on. As for same-sex activities during that period in a boy's development, it's known as, "opportunistic experimentation." I bet some girls could tell stories too!
*I had no concept of "bi" at that time.
Um... mine wasn't.
I was pretty heavily suppressing the male-appreciating side of my psyche at 14, (It wouldn't be long before the first undeniable cracks in that façade, as by 17 I couldn't deny that Yoko Kurama was hot) but that doesn't mean I didn't know the thoughts were there. Took me a long time to admit it openly and accept it, though.
Now, on the other hand, my mom apparently knew when I was 14. The rest of my family (excluding my willfully ignorant grandmother) figured it out by the time I was 21.
I don't see anything fundie about this. I've seen plenty of kids who were "late bloomers" and not interested in sex with anyone or fixed in their orientation until their late teens.
"First experience" doesn't necessarily mean penetration. In gender segregated situations like prep schools and societies that practice segregation of the sexes, the first kissing, petting, etc. is often with another of the same sex, for both boys and girls. The interest in sex and declaring a sexual identity that we see in many American Middle and High schools certainly isn't universal.
Dave, I first started supporting gay rights because of how unattracted to men I am. I figured, why should we hate lesbians for realizing feeling the same way about men that most straight men do? And the rest is history.
I can remember having a crush on a girl at seven (although I knew nothing about sex), and I've never had the slightest interest in sex with another guy. So, yeah, at 14 I knew I wasn't gay.
"Almost every male's first experience is with a member of the same sex."
Err, that's not the way I remember it.
Almost every male's first experience is with a member of the same sex.
You keep telling yourself that. Maybe you'll believe it yourself some day. You might find it more comfortable to turn the light on in the closet before you finally come out of it.
I'm in that small group your "almost all" left open.
How's this fundie? No real prejudice is expressed. Its second sentence is absurd, and probably inaccurate. The first sentence... dunno. I'm 17 and still not certain as to what I am, though I've pretty conclusively ruled out gay.
Your personal experience is irrelevant. Just because your first experience was with another guy, does not in any way mean that this is a prevalent thing. But for the record, it does indicate that you may be bi or gay yourself ^_^
Also, since everybody else is sharing, my first crush was on an older girl when I was in elementary school. I was first grade, she was second. Pretty conclusively determined I was straight by 10 or so (e.g. ogling my female classmates, sneaking downstairs for late-nite skinemax flicks, heavy crushing on the 7th grade history teacher, etc...)
For those who critisise this guy for his focus on gay males
A)he's probably a man and, as such, is projecting his own experiencience
B) he's relying in a stereotype of the pre sexual revolution times when schools, college dorms and the army, of course, where either segregated or devoid for long periods of time of people of the other sex. What people call "homo until graduation"
C)he's using his bi curiosity or actual repressed homosexuality to coger up his insecurities
Like Neal Horsley asuming that all men commit bestiality because he did and then, oh crap. Now, jokes así de, many closeted homosexuals asume that their feelings for the same sex are part of the human being in order to cope with them
Confused?
