Give a good man a hammer and he'll find something to do with it either as a hobby or for a living. If he doesn't he'll put it in the closet until it is needed or until someone needs to borrow it. Give a racist a hammer and he'll recite a history of what's been done with hammers trying to give himself credit for all of it, question what you personally have ever done with hammers despite doing nothing himself, accuse you of imitating him if you reveal that you do have a set of tools you use regularly, wave the damn thing everywhere as a symbol of everything he could implicitly achieve whether he gets off his ass to do it or not, and would sooner hit you with it and throw it in a fire than let it be used by someone with a genuine need.
And if you give a woman a hammer, she'll use it to build a house for herself and her kids, and let the lazy man who thinks he owns her a chance to earn his own living.
BTW, you've apparently never heard the phrase, "if the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail." Hint: it's not a complimentary reference.
