There are only a few people I'd like to see in hell. Gandhi is one of them, and so is Buddha. As you can tell, I'm not a big fan of India or the false religions it has produced.

"Buddhism is not a fucking religion."
Apart from being a debatable point (nicely put in such catagorical, fundie, no-other-opinion-available terms btw!) -is there a "fucking religion"? And where can I sign up??
On a side note: People like this do all the work for anti-theists. People like this show the evils of religion more than a thousand Christopher Hitchens. Religion has robbed them of their ability to feel empathy and compassion on the same level as a person whose mind is untainted with religious bias. Once they are willing to accept good hearted people roasting in hell as long as they, themselves are safe, they've lost some of their humanity.
I would oppose God (if the Biblical God had existed) like I would any other tyrant. A good person stands up to bullies, they don't go and worship them.
You're a fine example of Christain love and tolerance.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I could not say that with a straight face.
Conversely, Buddha and Ghandi are big fans of God. It's their fan club they don't like(and their affection must be reciprocate, because the first got the independence of his country and the other founded a vast religion long before Jesus. And Hinduism, the religion of both, has lived more than 2000 years)
You hate Gandhi and Buddha, but even if they knew that, they would not hate you.
Who is more like Jesus - you or them?
And I'm sure you hope to see Bush, Hitler, Ann Coulter, Tim McVeigh, Jerry Falwell, and others of their ilk in heaven, right?
I already dealt with Mother Theresa in another thread. I hope to see her in heaven, and I hope that she trusted Jesus as her personal savior. But I have my doubts, based on her devotion to ROman Catholicism.
While I'm at it, I'll add Confucius and Lo Su to the mix. I'm sure they've had a comfortable thousand or so years in hell.
Myheadhurts, here's a few more "preachers of [false] peace" who are currently living in the deep fat frier: Muhammad, Hanuman, and The Beatles.
Quote from our resident fundie Messy "While I'm at it, I'll add Confucius and Lo Su to the mix. I'm sure they've had a comfortable thousand or so years in hell."
Actually since Confucius & Lao Tzu Lived hundreds of years before Jesus it would be a bit hard to reject him don't you think? And as for the Crap you usually come up with about nature teaching about God..guess what. Lao Tzu was particularly big on the God which nature taught & Confucius was a dedicated theist. It's just that both weren't Jews or christians.
Gee I guess that kinda makes you look a bit idiotic doesn't it Messy?
...dumb fuck. Leaving aside the decision to hate them, how the hell do they outrank people who've actually hurt other people to make your allegedly short list?
ANYWAY, Buddhism is fairly confirmable as a religion although it is not technically theistic. Ordinary Buddhists who are more concerned with everyday life that philosophy have a long habit of treating the Buddha as if a deity, though. They've even killed a bit in his name.
so..you're hoping that two of the most historically peaceful people who ever lived are in your hell because they didn't worship your god?
If there was ever a person who deserves a bitch-slap from the Almighty, its this guy.
I'm not even religious and even I think God doesn't think your statement is okay.
Yep, damn those pesky Gandhis and Buddhas. They only want to respect and cherish every form of people and life, not only the ones which fit in some Bronze Age fairytales' standards.
(Not to mention other fine aspects of buddhism. In my opinion it's not a religion per se, more like a philosophy of a sort.)
Question:
Would hell really affect The Buddha? If he understood how to release himself from suffering, then no matter what hell threw at him, he would be unaffected.
For Mahatma Gandhi: he was willing to starve himself to death because he saw it as the best way to persuade others to his cause. Hell would have a hard time punishing him.
Wrath.
It's one of the Seven Deadly Sins.
You're guilty of it.
One could also argue that you're violating one of the Ten Commandments: Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord in vain. It says that God is not an excuse to start your own personal crusades.
As a result, your own theology says that you're damned. You can't say that you're a believer and deserve heaven despite this, as laws still apply to those who choose to follow them.
There are a lot of people I'd like to see in heaven. All christian fundies, along with all the bullies, hypocrites and bigots of human history who 'accepted Jesus'.
This is to ensure that those annoying, stupid people won't interfere with the interesting discussions I plan to have in hell with interesting people like Gandhi, Einstein, Hawking, Dawkins, etc...
Btw, should hell exist (very improbable), then it is surely a much better place than the eternal nightmare of the fundie christian heaven.
People like you make me ashamed to be a Christian. Honestly, Gandhi was an amazing person, who did many things in the cause of world peace, which God PROMOTED (or have you forgotten that?) and yet you say that just because he was from a certain country and believed differently from you, he'll be condemned to Hell.
I was taught to believe in a God who accepts EVERYBODY, and my personal opinion is that God will welcome both Gandhi and Buddha with open arms if they are in heaven.
But you know, whatever. If people like them don't make it to heaven, I don't think I want to either.

The Buddha is not a fucking god. Buddhism is not a fucking religion.

Buddhism is most assuredly a religion. It is composed of many sects, as are Christianity, Hinduism, etc.
Confused?
