Shirvell acknowledged protesting outside of Armstrong's house and calling him "Satan's representative on the student assembly."
"I'm a Christian citizen exercising my First Amendment rights," Shirvell told CNN's Anderson Cooper. "I have no problem with the fact that Chris is a homosexual. I have a problem with the fact that he's advancing a radical homosexual agenda."
[To put this in perspective: Chris Armstrong is the student body president at the University of Michigan. Andrew Shirvell is assistant attorney general for the state of Michigan.]

Well, this guy's gonna be hit with a libel suit at some point in the future. I especially like how Shirvell posted that Armstrong was, and I quote "engaging in "flagrant sexual promiscuity" with another male member of the student government; sexually seducing and influencing "a previously conservative [male] student" so much so that the student, according to Shirvell, "morphed into a proponent of the radical homosexual agenda;" hosting a gay orgy in his dorm room in October 2009; and trying to recruit incoming first year students "to join the homosexual 'lifestyle.' "
Classy.
Ah, the Ted Faggard syndrome.
"I don't hate homosexuals, I hate the sin of homosexuality"
Dear everyone: the right to free speech does NOT include harassment or stalking.
... surely that's basic common sense? Why does this guy not seem to grasp this? And he's an assistant attorney general? Doesn't that kind of job involve, you know, knowing stuff about legal matters? If I were his boss, I'd be firing him right now for clearly not having a fucking clue about basic legal concepts.
Hey, Michigan, you need to fire this Shirvell fucktard now, because you're going to be hit with one big-ass lawsuit if you don't.

Why is it they always think that if a gay person is in a position of power, no matter how small the position or power is, they leap to the "advancing a radical homosexual agenda" conclusion?
*edit* Apparently Shirvell has been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation into his activities. But this whole thing has me wondering why he's targeting Chris Armstrong so much? I'm sure Armstrong isn't the only gay person in Michigan.
I watched that clip for about 1 minute before I had to stop. Reminded me far too much of Peewee Herman's evil brother.
Anyway I think I read he is on personal leave and subject to a disciplinary review on return.
Look, I am a reasonably attractive guy that never had problems getting girlfriends in my youth and I never had any man try and recruit me to the homosexual lifestyle. In fact, I don't recall ever having to tell a man that I wasn't gay or bi or whatever.
What the fuck planet are these people on?
With what just happened at Rutgers it is time, once and for all, to stop the persecution and marginalization of these people.
While I think it's awesome that Armstrong is a gay student body president who's working for transgender housing (or so I heard), seriously, Shirvell. It was a molehill that you don't need to make into an embarrassing mountain.
"I'm a Christian citizen exercising my First Amendment rights," Shirvell told CNN's Anderson Cooper.
Just like Fred Phelps and his Westboro Baptist flock.
"I have no problem with the fact that Chris is a homosexual.
I call BS. If this isn't personal, why are you harassing him at his home?
I have a problem with the fact that he's advancing a radical homosexual agenda."
Fascinating. Please continue. What "radical homosexual agenda" is he advancing, exactly?
Being an AAG, I'm sure you can tell us precisely what Armstrong has done that is illegal.
Then, when you're done, perhaps you could explain to us how the state of Michigan legally defines the terms stalking, harrassment, and libel?
Ok, let me see if I get this correct...
The Ass DA has the hots for another gay guy he is stalking, clearly showing his own romantic and sexual interest in the poor guy. Stalkers like this is normally locked up and given treatment for mental illness.
But then again, this is USA and health care is a four letter word.
Thanks, Andrew Shirvell! You're making Michigan look worse!
@Doubting Thomas: I'm starting to think someone was rejected, you know? :P
I'm just surprised he's not protesting outside the house of Neil Armstrong. After all, he, as well as Buzz Aldrin & Michael Collins, did infinitely worse than a mere Chris Armstrong, and he being gay:
Because when Armstrong took that 'One Small Step For Man' in 1969 - just as Yuri Gagarin did eight years earlier (as did Laika the dog, and Sputnik 1 twelve years earlier) - he reinforced the fact that by doing so, he destroyed Genesis in the Bible cosmologically: there is no solid 'Firmament' above a flat earth with four corners resting on pillars.
I heard about this...Political Official bullying a Student...that's LOW!
Shirvell is just an annoying little bald dweeb trying to boost his poor self-esteem.
Andy? You jealous? Got something to hide? I understand stereotyping is wrong...but looking at your nerdy, dorky, squeeky, wimpy, lispy self I suspect you may be a "Closet-Case" yourself! Chris Armstrong's one cute guy! Are you crushin' hard on the hot College Boy & feelin' all guilty, Andy-poo?
(before anyone gripes...not all nerds are bad...not all Gay men are Femmes or dorks...but I just couldn't resist)
Too bad Shirvell made his blog private to see what, if any, evidence he has to prove Armstrong is any of the things he says he is.
Honestly, what exactly would a "radical homosexual agenda" be? To Shirvell, that's just equal rights.
Confused?
