Whenever children are born with birth defects, its never to punish the child, but the sins of the parents. Youve never seen good people have hermaphrodites do you? (and not good meaning nice, good meaning clean of sin)
God would never hurt children. After all, it was Jesus who said, "Anyone who dares harm one of these little ones will have to answer to me."

Actually (last I heard) "little ones" refers to the various rabble of a community, not specifically children. (It's "little" in importance, power and fame--not size.) I don't think there's a single verse that singles out children for decent treatment--and several that do the opposite.
/I'm open to corrections.
But back to the point; I couldn't even imagine the mob using this kind of logic (though, they might *do* such a thing):
"No, sir. I didn't harm the assistant D.A.'s child in any way. Cutting off his fingers was done to harm his father--for his... misbehavior."
Anyone on earth (except NickTheBlitz) will see that you're harming one innocent person to harm another.
"Whenever children are born with birth defects, its never to punish the child, but the sins of the parents."
So he punishes kids for something they didn't do. Thanks, God?
Godammit, people cannot be this stupid.
Well, it is a time honored biblical tradition to punish the innocent instead of the guilty. One of the foundational pieces of Xian doctrine is the crucifixion - punishment of the innocent for the "sins" of others.
Also, my born-again, evangelical sister have a Downs syndrome son. I can't imagine any parents who better exemplify the Xian ideal than my sister and brother-in-law. I'll have to ask them what sins they are being punished for.
Is it just repressed Fundie sexuality that made this guy choose "hermaphrodites" as his sole example of a birth defect?
My late companion Marsha was born a paraplegic and had debilitating and circumscribing lifelong health problems as a result -- albeit for a life not that long. Her parents, and indeed her whole family, were the most profoundly (and genuinely) pious fundamentalist Christians I have ever met.
Gads, people spouting this level of insanity on this topic really burn me up. Dang it, GENETIC ERRORS HAPPEN -- sometimes entirely at random, sometimes because of a chemical or viral agent that interferes with fetal development. But to spout off about it being because of "sin" -- and to say that punishing the parents by disabling the child is a divine act that makes ANY kind of sense -- is about as reprehensible as fundie "reasoning" can get.

Hermaphrodites is the example he uses for birth defects that punish the parents? WTF? How does this "punish" anyone more than, say, spina bifida, hydrocephaly, or a host of debilitating genetic diseases?
Ok, so these kids aren't hermaphrodites, but they are conjoined twins. If you read the blog you'll see "pray for us" and "our church..." and other religious stuff all over it. I'm sure these parents ASKED for their kids to be conjoined because...I dunno, maybe they held hands before they were married?

Oh, that's *real* just right there. Punish the kid for something the parents did.
Amusing anagram of the day: rearranging the letters in "evangelists" can spell "evil's agents". Should Satan actually exist, I'm sure he's more than happy to see all the help he's getting from fundies in recruiting.
"God would never hurt children".
Goddidit!
Can you recall something happening in egypt, with a few plagues, and some first-born dying to show god's power?
Your extreme stupidity is at the same time reason to punish you and punishment enough. Just leave the others alone please. It may be contagious.
soo, God takes out his anger at the aprents by screwing with the children? sounds like a sadist to me.
And again, I doubt that what Jesus said actually applies, as
A. he's dead
B. according to you, he IS God (so God smacks himself?)
C. you're talking about God hurting children, not a pedophile
Well, I have to admit, that's a watertight argument. As long as you can somehow convince yourself that causing someone lifelong disfigurement doesn't count as harming them in any way, of course.
Isn't it hurtful to the children to let them be born with birth defects? And "He who is without sin cast the first stone", does that ring a bell?
I have seen children of good (meaning kind, stable and empathic) people born with defects, and I have seen children of bad (meaning egoistic, abusive and irrational) people born without the slightest blemish. You were saying...?
You think God will point finters? Remember he does not judge like we do or would do.
A child comes into the world as an etrnal soul.
s/he keeps coming banck until s/he gets it righ, however long it takes, Life is eternal.
Remember cause and effect; not only is it true in the physical sense but also in a spiritual
it was Jesus who said, "Anyone who dares harm one of these little ones will have to answer to me."
The Catholics are in for it!
Youve never seen good people have hermaphrodites do you? (and not good meaning nice, good meaning clean of sin)
Noone is without sin.
;-)
And you just dissed about a million Christians with conditions and children with conditions. Do you ever think?
This is like the priest that say Christians are much more fit, and strong with ill, disabled and obese people right in front of them.
Anyone who dares harm one of these little ones will have to answer to me
...and thank you for another contradiction in your Bible, NickTheShitz.
Hosea 13:16.
And as so many of you fundies say that your J-boy is God, therefore...!
Confused?
