Some people claim that Martin Luther King Jr. was not a Communist, even though he did everything possible to promote the Communist's agenda. That's like saying that Hitler was not a murderer because he didn't actually do the killing. Martin Luther King Jr. was a Communist! Martin Luther King was affiliated with 60 Communist Fronts. He openly incited violence under the banner of "nonviolence." King led a bizarre sex life which included acts of shocking perversion. On Jan. 31, 1977 Coretta Scott King obtained a federal court order sealing for 50 years 845 pages of FBI records about her husband, "because its release would destroy his reputation!" Still a cowardly, spineless Congress voted to make King's birthday a national holiday. This is should be an outrage to all Christians. The King Holiday act must be repealed!
The life story of Martin Luther King is shocking and disgraceful from beginning to end. He was born with the name Michael King on Jan. 15, 1929. In 1935 his preacher father, "Daddy" King, decided to name himself after the great Protestant reformer Martin Luther. He announced to his congregation that henceforth he was to be called Martin Luther King and his son Martin Luther King, Jr. "Daddy" King never bothered to have this act legalized in court. Thus, his son's real name is Michael King! The holiday should actually be called Michael King Day!

I'll take your word for it.
Oh wait, this is David J. Stewart? Then no, I won't.
See what credibility does? I don't even care if anything you said is true or not.
Godwin's law is hereby invoked...
And in relation to Martin Luther King Jr. no less. A man who has done more for human relations than a bigot like you could ever possibly hope to achieve.
Admit it, you just don't him because of the melanin content of his skin.
"Thus, his son's real name is Michael King! The holiday should actually be called Michael King Day!"
Even if this were true, so what? "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet".
Even if Doctor King was a communist sex pervert, he still led one of the greatest movements for positive social change in American history.
And the fact that communists were opposed to segregation and racial discrimination doesn't mean the segregation and racial discrimination were good things. If Stalin liked cute fuzzy puppies, it doesn't mean we should go around shooting the neighbor's basset hound.
The change of name, if that's his greatest sing, was not up to him and it's trivial. Second, if HE WAS ORDAINED PASTOR, he could in NO WAY be a communist. That the ideals of Christianity, taken to the last consequences, could resemble some of the communism, is a different matter altogether. What apparently Coretta King said is pure URBAN LEGEND. He committed adultery ONCE, and he was forgiven by his wife once he confessed to her. Period. Like David, if I remember well.
WTF?
Who cares what his birth name was anyway - he made a name for himself, through bravery, courage and strength! He stud up for what was right and changed the world - too bad if you can not sit in an all white restaurant anymore (waited on by a black waitress, food prepared by a black cook)
MLK was no angel, this is true -- he had a bit of a hypocritical streak, though nowhere near as bad as some of his successors -- but look at it this way. Oskar Schindler and Mark Felt were not what you'd call nice people either. But when push came to shove, they looked past their baser natures and past crimes and/or indiscretions and did the heroic thing.
We had a thing like that not too long ago near here with a couple of Boston firefighters -- they were killed in action fighting a rather nasty restaurant fire. It came out that one was a cokehead and another was drunk out of his mind when he picked up a shift for someone else. It doesn't diminish the fact that they were firefighters doing their best under the circumstances to save lives, and the profession of firefighter is as close as it comes to "hero by definition".
We have a nasty habit of tearing down our heroes because they're flawed human beings. Is it really that hard to understand that flawed people can do great things?
(As for Martin Luther King Jr.'s rightful name... well, it was the name his parents give him. If his dad chose to change his name, that's his business.)
@Brian X
Well put. We have a knack for putting people up on a pedestal, and then pulling it out the moment we see a flaw. One look through the tabloids confirms that. We are a people obsessed with tearing others apart. But to the topic, yeah. MLK may not be an angel. He may not have been pure and chaste, but in my eyes, he did a great thing. I have a feeling Davey boy would disagree.
So, you don't want there to be a Martin Luther King day, however, you do want a ...Michael King day? Which, by the way, would be the exact same thing as Martin Luther King day.
David Stewart's just pissed because King made the rest of the country realize that the men in white hoods were NOT the good guys.
I sincerely hope that Stewart's a Poe. I really, really do.
This is should be [sic] an outrage to all Christians.
Damn near everything, including children's books and cartoons, are an outrage to Christians.
He openly incited violence under the banner of "nonviolence"....The King Holiday act must be repealed!
I can't tell are you racist, retarded or both?
Let's see: FDR,long standing affair with his secretary,
J Edgar Hoover, gay, cross dresser, in the mob's pocket.
JFK, compulsive womanizer
Ronald Reagan, had to marry that anorexic little bitch because she was pregnant.
MLK Jr had his name changed without official paperwork
"Martin Luther King was affiliated with 60 Communist Fronts."
Apart from the overall fail of this post, how is that even possible? There aren't enough hours in the day, and you'd forget who you were affiliated with.
The David J. Stewart method of genetating content:
1) Pick a noun. Absolutely any English noun will do, but proper nouns are preferable.
2) Write a few lines of outrageous bullshit alleging that your chosen noun is in direct opposition to the tenets of Christianity, making sure to grossly overuse words like "disgraceful", "evil", "shocking", etc. The harder it is for others to see your line of reasoning, the better, that just means you're winning the debate; in fact, feel free to make your conclusion a total non-sequitur.
3) Hysterically rant about it, occasionally referring back to earlier rants despite their irrelevance, until you think of another noun or somebody shoots you. Never for a moment let yourself be discouraged if your argument is considered by the entire remainder of humanity to be a total non-issue.
Who wants to tell Davy that the "pervert" rumors were (aheh) disseminated by one J. Edgar Hoover, who was, um, y'know...
Wait, now that I think of it, Dave rants just like the prissy, self-loathing closet case he's parroting. I wonder...
Martin Luther King was affiliated with 60 Communist Fronts.
Bullshit, because out of these hypothetical 60 communist fronts, the vast majority of them hate each other in some form. Unless this is an organisation simply called "60 Communist Fronts".
Thus, his son's real name is Michael King! The holiday should actually be called Michael King Day!
What, is "Michael King" the secret name for MLK that if you called him that he explodes or something?
Confused?
