@1098288: Only if a president is getting it.
But anti-sodomy laws have been extant since time immemorial.
Translation: Laws against men having anal sex with other men have existed in all Jewish, Christian, and Muslim countries.
One good thing about them is that if rape is involved, the crime is legally worse if sodomy is involved, and that is as it should be.
In terms of physical and psychological trauma, there is no difference between raping a woman vaginally and raping her anally. Both are demeaning; both are stigmatizing; both are a profanation of an act that should be performed out of mutual respect and affection.
The only real difference is that the former can get you pregnant and the latter can't.
Anal sex in particular is a filthy and unhealthy act no matter who does it.
On the contrary. If the receiver is courteous enough to clean out his/her bowels ahead of time, and condoms and lubricants are used, anal sex is just as safe and hygenic as vaginal, oral, or digital(i.e., with your fingers) sex.
Anal sex is performed by men on men, by men on women, by women on men (with the aid of sex toys) and by women on women (ditto). When it is performed hygenically and respectfully between consenting partners, there is nothing wrong with it. When it is used to dehumanize or control another person, it is wrong--just as any other form of rape or sexual coercion is wrong.
Making sodomy illegal will never involve people busting doors in; it merely keeps private what should be private.
So let's ban bathing while naked, then. After all, by your logic if something is legal, it is automatically done in public.
a young girl went to a sex ed class, learned about sodomy, and cried to her mother, thinking that it meant when she married, she’d have to practice sodomy.
Then someone wasn't explaining it right. Anal sex is something couples can do, but it certainly isn't for everyone, anymore than BDSM, foot fetishes, or pornography is for everyone. If you're not comfortable with it, you don't have to do it--EVER. But if it is something you're interested in, you should at least know how to do it without giving yourself AIDS or infecting yourself with bacteria from your partner's feces.
This is disgusting and horrible.
It is indeed disgusting and horrible that you can't see beyond your own prejudices to realize that the missionary position is not the only way for committed couples to be sexually intimate with one another.
