They looked at what humans needed for life. I don't know what the big deal is about the laws of physics. Can't the laws of physics be different in another planet if there is one? I agree with many of the points the movie brought out though, like needed liquid water, the right amount of sun, things like that. If there is another planet out there, they probably have the same Holy Bible we do and everything. Really cool.

Really? Do you think they're at all curious as to who the Romans were, or the Egytians, or the Isrealites, Jews, Amelekites, Canaanites, Phillistines, Samaritans etc?
like needed liquid water Why? There are tons of ways to make water inside a body. On some plaet out there there could be ammonia/oxygen breathing creatures that make the water internally if they even need liquid water.the right amount of sun Being? Life on earth exists in the oceans at 11 km depth where there is no light at all and in the middle of the deserts where the sun burns down upon animals mercilessly.

People like this make C-students like Bush look and feel like fucking rocket scientists - no wonder he got elected...twice. These are the same people who don't believe that science is important, no wonder, they can't possibly see its importance and relevance in our lives.

When the first extra-solar planet, 51 Pegasi b, was discovered in the mid-1990s, a Catholic archbishop went on record as saying:If there is life on this planet, their souls will need saving.
(Never mind that 51 Pegasi b was, even at the time, known to be about as heavy as Saturn and closer to its star than Mercury is to our Sun.)

Ummm...no. The laws of physics apply everywhere.
Also, Christianity is a relatively new religion that sprang up in one region and spread out from there. The fact that several thousand unique religions sprang up on this planet alone should be a strong indicator that intelligent life elsewhere will have a different belief system from us entirely.
No, they wouldn't have the same Bible, because the Bible is a work of fiction written by humans. Aliens *probably* wouldn't look anything like humans. But considering the vast size of the universe, I would suspect that somewhere out there, there is likely a race of human-like creatures. Somewhere. That might be our galaxy. Might be a galaxy on the other side of the universe that can't be observed. We'll never know. (Unless, of course, they greet us or we greet them.)
