[Replying to "as far as I know, there isn't such a thing as 'vitamin b17'"]

And yes, B-17 is a classified vitamin.

If you have any problems with B-17 then I'll offer you a challenge. I'll take apricot seeds for 11 months and you take a toxic chemotherapy drug, and we'll see who's the better at the end of it. Or more to the point, we'll see who's alive at the end of it.

I do believe that there might be a need for more holistic approaches when it comes to medicine, but it still has its place. It's quite a big money racket. Sometimes too big, in my opinion.
Quite a number of people have had their cancer go into remission by quitting highly processed food and industrial agriculture, not just by eating apricot seeds.
But there are still times when such methods become necessary. Ask any person who gets the chickenpox at 20.
Just for the record, "Vitamin B-17" was a term for Laetrile coined by its inventor, Ernst T. Krebs, Jr.. He tried to classify Laetrile as a vitamin to escape FDA scrutiny. He and his followers are the only ones to consider it a "vitamin."
This is a little after the fact, but I only recently discovered this site and am catching up on some of the older "gems"...but I digress.
When I first read this quote, I realised that he was talking about Laetrile, but tracer beat me to the punch by about 5 months...
Anyway, FunkyBrother might be interested to know that Steve McQueen already tried using "vitamin B-17" to cure cancer. Unfortunately, it didn't work.

We will keep their lifespan short and their minds weak while pretending to do the opposite. We will use our knowledge of science and technology. We will use soft metals, aging accelerators and sedatives in food and water, also in the air. They will be blanketed by poisons everywhere they turn. We will promise to find a cure from our many fronts, yet we will feed them more poison. The poisons will be absorbed through their skin and mouths, they will destroy their minds and reproductive systems. From all this, their children will be born dead, and we will conceal this information. We must be ingenious in dispensing the poisons for they can see far. We will teach them that the poisons are good, with fun images and musical tones. Those they look up to will help. We will enlist them to push our poisons.
eating many apricot seeds is not a good idea. You would need to eat almost 8 oz to kill yourself. Kids would need less. (variety makes a difference too)
chemotherapy drugs will make you ill, they are intended to kill a cancer which is part of you. The idea in chemotherapy is to kill the cancer cells without killing the rest.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
