Homosexuality is not a disease or a choice. Disorder maybe, but I think it is more of a defect.
I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality? Of coarse not. It doesn't make sense! How would we reproduce?
I also think people are born gay, just like people are born with Autism. It is a defect.
Political Correctness will try to make it otherwise though. (like it is natural or something? Like WTF? How can that be natural?)

FFS, mother nature is not a real person, and we will obviously not evolve into a homosexual species.
There is however evidence (in rats) that homosexuality goes up when over-crowding happens. Therefore it may be an evolutionary adaptation to overpopulation.
And calling homosexuals autistic, nice one there. So your saying that autistics aren't natural either? How the hell is someone "born that way" but not natural?
I don't really know how to respond to this, and not only because paragraphs 2 and 4 are the categorical opposite of paragraphs 1 and 3.
As far as I can tell he's saying "I admit that they're born with it and can't be any other way, but I'm still going to treat them like shit because they deserve it."
Does he point and laugh at strangers in wheelchairs, maybe spit on them for good measure?
Please, please, please, I beg of you, come up with something besides this worn-out "how will we reproduce?" bromide. And try harder to make your comments agree with one another.
You know, being gay is kind of like being autistic in a way. Both are something fuckwits like you probably feel need to be corrected, despite the immense harm such treatments inflict. Seriously, STFU moron, and let people live their damn lives with dignity.
"I also think people are born gay, just like people are born with Autism . It is a defect."
Die in a fire.
"I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality?"
5-10% of the population not reproducing really isn't going to make that much of a difference...
I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality?
It already has, considering the fact that uh, homosexuals exist.
I also think people are born gay, just like people are born with Autism. It is a defect.

"Natural" doesn't mean "good." Birth defects are indeed natural, and so is homosexuality; which is a neutral quality, not a good or bad one.
Mother Nature has no authority to allow or forbid anything. That's not how it works.
There is Gravity, Thermodynamics, Hydrodynamics, Electromagnetism and so forth, and everything that does not trigger a severe clash with one of "Mother Nature's" laws has at least an opportunity to occur. Maybe not a cutting edge but a fairly decent chance.

O.K.
Let us dispense with the nonsense that "gays can't reproduce". While it's a small sample, every gay person I've met has children. The urge to reproduce has little correlation with the desire for love.
It's wonderful when the two coincide but it's no more "normal" than devoting one's life to a fucking myth. In fact, I would say that being gay is far more normal than devotion to a fucking religion.
Gay people accept an, often, uncomfortable truth about themselves while fundies reject all truths that make them uncomfortable.
It's long past time to call fundies on their unnatural CHOICE!
A disorder can be a defect. In any case I'm not sure what you're trying to do by distinguishing that, unless you're just saying a defect is worse than a disorder. And by your logic, anything different could be considered a defect.
How would we reproduce? Parthenogenesis.
Homosexuality is just as natural as anything else that arises due to natural processes. Why shouldn't we paint it as natural?
How can you be born with it, but it not be natural?
And how can you, in sound mind, condemn people of something they, by your own though process, have no control over?
And finally, you're aware that not every child's parents live to fully raise their it, correct? So would it not make sense for nature to, perhaps, set a hitch in a percentage of the populace to ensure they are available to raise said parentless children as their own? Perhaps make it so reproduction within this group is unlikely?
RE: #1076027 Osiris:
"Actually homosexuality appears in an species when it's so numerous that its mass of numbers is actually threatening its resources. Homosexuals don't reproduce, thus reducing the population to a safe number."
Actually some homosexuals DO reproduce. The number of Gay fathers and Lesbian mothers I know is very large. I even know one guy who had 10 kids by his three wives, and he was quite Gay not Bi. Even when he was married practically all of his sex was with guys. One Lesbian couple I know just had their fourth biological child. So sorry a lot of Homosexuals do reproduce and this was esspecially true not to long ago when Homosexuals were in the closet and therer was a lot of pressure to get married and have kids.
1) If it occurs in nature, without conscious influence from an intelligent entity, it is natural.
2) A defect is that which hinders the individuals life or the lives of those around him or her in a significant way. Homosexuality may make you uncomfortable or irritate you, but it most certainly does not stop you from leading a normal life. Being gay is not a fatal illness.
3) Political correctness has nothing to do with the definition of the word "natural". If anyone is trying to rewrite its meaning to serve their purposes, it's you.
4) Of course the course was coarse as you navigated your grammar course with your coarse understanding of the words "course" and "coarse", thus allowing your failure to take its course.
So now these people have also infected one of the oldest forums for Sid Meyers Civilization?
Well,
in fact homosexuality is beneficial to the survival.
Although homosexuals (usually) don´t haveoffspring of their own, they care for the offspring of their relatives (at least in nature, i.e. nonhuman animals), therefore increasing the chances for said offspring to survive.
"I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality? Of coarse not."
but then
"I also think people are born gay, just like people are born with Autism."
Do you understand what a contradiction is all about?
I cannot comprehend why these people think that if there is an adaptation, EVERY SINGLE MEMBER of a species would have it. Does everyone like spicy food? Does everyone have curly hair? No, numbnuts, we vary within our own species, for fuck's sake.
Snake poison is also natural. Just because something is distasteful to you, doesn't necessarily make it "unnatural."
Occurs in nature = natural. Scientists have observed gay animal couples in almost every species ever studied that has distinct genders.
"I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality?"
Apparently it has.
"It doesn't make sense! How would we reproduce?"
I don't know if you've noticed or not, but not every human is gay. And if for some reason all humans started being born gay in the future, then we would eventually die out and be replaced by some other animal as the dominant species. But that's a big "IF" it will ever happen.
Well, mother nature wouldn't evolve to diabetes, blindness, Down Syndrome.................. and, of course sterility. Sorry, I think that the reproduction related list goes on.
Well at least he admits people are born gay, even he claims its a defect (guess he thinks that the autistic should be treated like he treats gay people, ie horribly)
@ EllwyenDarwin and Siberia
Of course we don't. Gay people confuse them enough, people that don't necessarily care about the gender of their partner will confuse them even more.
Because many gay men are younger siblings, so it's nature's way of population control?
And stop misunderstanding science on the forum of my favorite turn-based computer strategy game! (Please?)
And that's a great link, Frogflayer ! Thanks! : ) Smilodon , love the title of the link but there's a pop-up ad/possible virus that come with that one.
I mean, do you honestly believe that mother nature will evolve to a point where there is Homosexuality? Of coarse not. It doesn't make sense! How would we reproduce?
*points to the New Mexico Whiptail lizard.*
Not just whiptails; see also swans, manatees, dolphins and giraffes. Granted, they not a monosexual, but they are frequently bisexual or homosexual.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
