I have believed in evolution for many years but now in my 60s and starting to have doubts. I mean if we look at fish they have always been fish, I have never seen a fish turn into a bird. Also when I went to the zoo a few weeks ago I asked myself if we evolved from monkeys then why are these monkeys still here, surely if evolution was true then monkeys wouldn't be about? But they are, so it now makes sense to me that man did not evolve from the monkeys.
I am also skeptical about ants, was there really a common ancestor, if so what was it? A mini ant? But ants are already small. Also it's hard to vision sea plankton evolving from a rock because that's what evolution says, it says organisms came from matter and rocks originally. Sounds like a fairy-tale to me. I used to be an orthodox Christian but now I'm a spiritualist. There are cases of ectoplasm spirits telling humans in the séance room that evolution is a hoax. Am I on the right path? Are the spirits right and evolution is a hoax?

I told myself that I was going to jump off of a bridge the next time I heard this idiocy. So I'll catch you all on the flip side FSTDT.
I've had it!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Evolution isn't a dogma but scientific facts.
I mean if we look at fish they have always been fish, I have never seen a fish turn into a bird.
Ittakes milions of years for that.

Abiogenesis isn't a "fairy-tale" : see MillerUrey experiment .

Just don't stop taking your meds.
So you spent 60 years not understanding that Evolution happens over the course of millions of years ...not in one lifetime.
As for your last sentence, you better call the Ghostbusters ...or a Psychiatrist.
Early onset Alzheimer's can be a pain.
What do you mean when you say you "believed in evolution"? You clearly have no idea what evolution is, so how and why did you believe in it? Rational people accept evolution, like we accept gravity and photosynthesis, we don't "believe" in them.
Depends on which path you want to be on, really.
The path to ignorance and oblivion? Then you're spot on.
The path to enlightenment and discoveries? Sorry, you've missed it by thousands of miles.
"I have never seen a fish turn into a bird."
Well, I know right now this guy knows nothing of evolution.
"Also when I went to the zoo a few weeks ago I asked myself if we evolved from monkeys then why are these monkeys still here, surely if evolution was true then monkeys wouldn't be about? But they are, so it now makes sense to me that man did not evolve from the monkeys."
Yep. Doesn't know anything.

I'd love to see how Christian fundies react to this. The ones who see Satan behind every cat up a tree would have to say that Satan says evolution is a lie. Can you say "paradox"?
if we evolved from monkeys then why are these monkeys still here
If Eva Mendes evolved from Cubans, why are there still Cubans?
This has to be a poe - nobody, even a creationist - could be that ignorant about the theory of evolution.
Evolution does NOT WORK THAT WAY. A fish will stay a fish, but that doesn't preclude its descendants from being other fishes or something else altogether.
The monkey question is one of the most juvenile questions ever. Just because Christainity sprung forth from Judaism doesn't mean Judaism doesn't exist!
Common ancestors are not necessarily smaller. And compared to a tiny primitive cell, the ant would look absolutely ENORMOUS.
The idea of organisms from the materials in rocks and so forth is no less credible than the idea of organisms from dirt. If anything, it's more credible due to evidence backing it up.
I have believed in evolution for many years ...
Deceaver, deceaver, thy pantaloons aflame!
In the remainder of your post you display such an egregious ignorance of even the most basic elements of the theory of evolution that I can not bring myself to believe you have ever known enough about it to ever believe it.
1) Evolution does not produce observable changes in centuries, let alone decades.
2) I'm sure you have been told this before but just for good measure: Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans and chimps share a common ancestor. (Write that on the blackboard 100 times, maybe it'll help you remember).
3) I realize this is probably a Poe, but the above two points had to be made to prevent me from committing self harm over the stupid in your post.
I'm thinking this is a Poe from the total misunderstanding of Evolutional stages to complete acceptance of "ectoplasm spirits telling humans in the séance room that evolution is a hoax."
Still,,, the authentic say shit like that too.
Many years ago, Carl Sagan gave a lecture. After the lecture, he asked for questions from the audience. One audience member stood up and asked, "Do you believe in UFOs?"
Carl Sagan replied, "You're asking the wrong question. It doesn't matter what I believe. The question you should be asking is, what is the evidence that UFOs are extraterrestrial spacecraft?"
(The answer, of course, is: Not much.)
So you're familiar with the phrase common ancestor but completely ignorant about what it means? I call bullshit.
"There are cases of ectoplasm spirits telling humans in the séance room that evolution is a hoax." - Spectral evidence! It's so scientific!
According to Ambrose Bierce's Devil's Dictionary:
CLAIRVOYANT, n.
A person, commonly a woman, who has the power of seeing that which is invisible to her patron, namely, that he is a blockhead.
What are you talking about, As a former spiritualist, I can tell you that most spiritualists believe not only in evolution, but in a spiritual conunterpart to it. I don't usually say this, but I think this guy is a poe.

There's this, posted on a 'paranormal occurrences' forums in the exact same format, only made to troll spiritualists. It was posted exactly 24 hours before the above quote.
So yeah, this guy is a poe. No question about it.
(It was hilarious, though, when the poster started talking about how he'd debated Dawkins, Gould, et cetera and trumped them. Sadly, he/she did not last long on the forums.)
This is phenomenally sad. You can see a perfectly bright guy has had his brain sucked out by those Creation predators. Here was a man who could have used a newfound interest to further his knowledge of the world, develop a worthwhile hobby perhaps, reduced to a gibbering, sound bite spring imbecile.
My hatred for those who did this to him knows no bounds. It transcends space and time, echoing at every instant throughout the universe and
The Tyler Snotgern account is for real, he is not a poe, I have encountered this person under many of his personalities in the past. He was banned on the Skeptiko forum for posting that he has had sex with astral spirits. He has been trolling forums since 2002. He's deep into what he writes, he is not a parody. It is a sign of someone with mental illness not a poe. He old username was "MU".
MU!! has been trolling numerous websites and newgroups, Usenet in particular, for over a decade. Do a Google search on names like "Ari Silverstein", "Frank Camper", or "wilburn" (preferably in combination with "Usenet", e. g. ["Ari Silverstein" Usenet], ["Frank Camper" Usenet], [wilburn Usenet]) to see the full dimension of his trolling.
Some information about him here:
http://www.spiritualismlink.com/t2125-salumet-et-al#17745
Do an internet search for MU Andrew B. Chung, I think it's safe to conclude they are the same person.

http://www.roadcycling.net/showthread.php?t=332930
Andrew B. Chung is already featured on this website and has some hilarious posts. These days he also trolls the Google usenet forums.

According to this forum:
"Mal Yankton is a sockpuppet account employed by someone connected with Rome Vihiro to stir up trouble between believers and skeptics over the Rupert Sheldrake issue. He's posted problems on Weiler's psi blog in the past and has an obsession with stalking JREF members. He posts as Tyler Snotgern on the skeptiko forum and he previously abused people on the username MU. He has a long history of impersonating people. He's targeted Jon Donnis (founder of the bad psychics forum) and other people on different websites. It's best to ignore the issue."
http://www.skepticforum.com/viewtopic.php?t=21905
Yet Rome Viharo when asked about this wrote:
"I'll let you in on a little secret here. Mal Yankton and Paul C. Anagnostopoulos IP's are both from the same location. I know this because (and I can't say who) emailed me both of their IP's because they were posting on one forum)."
http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Talk:Rome_Viharo#Internet_forums
Viharo even posted both their ISP information and they matched. So Tyler Snotgern, Mal Yankton, Paul C. Anagnostopoulos, MU are probably the same person. I believe poe would be the correct term.
Reading comments about Ty Snotgerm here, it's safe to conclude that he is at least equal to - if not worse than - the Canadian Fundie Spam Monster 'He Who Must Not Be Named', with his own long-time & (in )famous infecting forums/boards/blogs etc with his own BS, which he thinks will be listened to.
I'd be worrying that I was developing dementia or Alzheimer's, if on aging I could no longer understand something as simple as evolution despite having understood it previously.
For the record, evolution actually predicts we you should never see a fish turn into a bird. If this were ever observed evolutionary models would require drastic revision at the very least.
Evolutionary models also do not claim that
human beings evolved from monkeys, but instead that both human and non-human primates extant today descend from a shared common ancestor that's been long extinct.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
