Trump should be elected BECAUSE he would be a terrible president. Trump should be president, not because he would be good, but because he would do something different than the last 50 years of presidents, and something might change. Even if he drives us into the ground, there would be a massive uprising to change everything back. People will find an enemy and grow in adversity. When we aren't fighting wars, we start to bash each other down. If our leader proves to be a viable foe, the people would stop whining about unimportant things like race and sexuality and team up to fix REAL problems.

So, first you have to make things really, really bad before people will get their act together and address the real problems? You know, unfortunately, he might actually be right in a bizarre. crazy sort of way.
If anything your latest brown people war has increased the unreasonable rage and fear of 'others'.
Fuck it all is not the answer to the huge movement of stupid, it's always been part of your bases plan, crash and burn.
No he wouldn't. Trump wouldn't be able to do anything. Congress hates him, and would try to block his every move. If that sounds familiar, that's because we've spent the last 8 years with a similar situation.
I have had 4 different Sanders supporters say this to me, in the last week, in response to, "What if Clinton gets the nod?"
When did this talking point becomes so popular?
>something different than the last 50 years of presidents,
Lyndon, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Bush I, Clinton, Bush II, and Obama
So you think Trump should be more like JFK?
Oh, hey, great idea. Following that argument, if you don't like your current job, why not set yourself on fire? It would be a change!
And while we're in massive disarray, what will Russia, China, ISIS, etc, be doing? Standing back and letting us work things out, or capitalizing on the chaos?
Not really fundie. Stupid, certainly, but in the vein of "ignorant kid gets access to the internet" sort of stupid.
Not endorsing it by any stretch of the imagination. Just saying it's too meh to be here.
if he drives us into the ground
That would be the result of the bush administration.
there would be a massive uprising to change everything
Record voter turnout put President Obama in office for 2 terms, and he fixed a LOT of fucked-up republican horseshit. Sounds like a massive uprising to me!
Donald Fart in the White House would unite Washington as per Roosevelt during WWII (as per Churchill & Parliament: a unity war government): both sides suddenly co-operating .
Wiggy would be just a lame duck president from day one. And for all of his one term.
Indeed: the ultimate joke candidate. [/Ron Paul & 4chan]
I've worked for corporations that practiced, what we called, 'Crisis Management', i.e. we had to have a crisis before management would do anything.
The problem is, none of us thought that was actually a good idea.
This is actually somewhat true. Look how America united against George W. Bush. The pragmatic thing to do is vote for Trump, because Hillary Clinton isn't really any better. But the best thing to do is help 2016 elections have record low turnout. I know I'm not voting. I'm not playing the game the media and establishment wants to play. If Trump's in office, we won't be eating our own over who's more politically correct or whatever. We'll be out there with one purpose--save America from Trump.
@midnightcyn
Russia and China are zero threats to the US or anyone else, unless you're like Hillary Clinton and seem to have a desire to start WWIII over "saving" countries equally as corrupt as Russia like Ukraine ("but they're the good kind of corrupt!", says the US State Department). Once Russia and China start acting like Nazi Germany and committing mass murder, maybe there's a point. Oh wait, North Korea is committing mass murder and horrible atrocities against their own people, and nobody's doing anything besides sanctions against them. Just like we're doing against Russia, and their economy reflects that. I personally think Trump's foreign policy is far more sane than Hillary's, but again, I'm not voting for anyone.
@Timetoturn
Are you fucking kidding me? Trump doesn't even have a foreign policy, let alone a sane one. His positions on foreign policy, like everything else, are an incomprehensible mess of contradictions as he just says whatever the audience he's talking to wants to hear.
There are some very solid criticism that can be leveled at Hillary Clinton, but the idea that she and Trump are equally bad is just ludicrous. Hillary's a competent politician with a serious (if flawed) platform. Trump's an incompetent reality star with nothing but howling racism. They aren't even close.
It didn't work with Dumbya, why would it work with Trump?

"I have had 4 different Sanders supporters say this to me, in the last week, in response to, "What if Clinton gets the nod?"

It was a REDDIT poll of Trump supporters. It was their reason for supporting Trump.
He would destroy the party and we could build something good on the rubble.
There are no words to describe just how stupid it is to compare Prima Donald with Hillary. She isn't perfect, but to compare them is just insane. Hillary is so far above him on her worst day than he is on his best day that it's no longer funny. I just want people to grow up & face reality; the reality being that Bernie isn't going to get the nomination & we need to work together to keep Donald Fucking Trump out of the Oval Office. This election is way too important for self-righteous pouting.
Hillary may be a flawed candidate, but Trump is simply indefensible.
@Mister Spak
Okay, but that doesn't negate the fact it's becoming a talking point among a certain segment of Sanders supporters. Just look at TimeToTurn up the thread. He's ready to light a match and burn the whole house down so it can be rebuilt from the foundation up.
The problem with that is all of the people who will be homeless, go hungry, even die because the house is gone. Go to any Facebook political post and look at all of the Sanders supporters threatening to punish the rest of us for not nominating their messiah. Look at how many of them say they'll vote for Trump out of spite.
I've got a cousin who's a Berniebro. He says he's voting Trump if Hillary gets the nod. Not because he thinks Trump has a better policy. It's because, "All those bitches and traitors deserve to pay for not giving me my candidate. When the revolution comes Clinton cronies will be up against the wall with the rest of them."
You are even worse than the honest Trump voters. At least they do what they believe to be right, even if their ideas of right and wrong are horribly twisted; You, however, knowingly wish doom upon an entire global superpower out of childish spite and bloodlust.
@SheWhoMustNotBeNamed
This sounds more like conservatives than liberal, they sound like people who would normally vote republic.
Today I saw an article that describes anti war vs pro war voters. The Republic voters will vote for Clinton because she's more aggressively pro war than Trump, voters who were in the past Democratic voters will vote for Trump because he's less aggressively pro war than Clinton.
You're seeing history being made. The last time this happened was in 1980 when the KKK endorsed a candidate from the party of Lincoln.
Link? It would be an interesting read.
I'll admit it's an interesting political climate right now. Several of my traditionally conservative family members are voting Clinton over Trump because they're afraid Trump will start WW3. My best friend's step father is voting Trump because he thinks he'll lead us into WW3 and the world needs to learn not to fuck with America. My brother is a conservative who temporarily switched to Democratic to be a Berniebro. Then there's the aforementioned cousin. The parties aren't very clear cut right now.
And the conservatives flocking to Bernie may explain some of the behavior I'm seeing on Facebook from Berniebros. Though that aforementioned cousin voted for Obama twice before he started talking about shoving Clinton supporters against the wall when the revolution comes.
Couldn't get it to edit; I wanted to add that 40% of Bernie voters polled in the West Virginia primary admitted they would be voting for Trump in the general election.
That's my main issue with open primaries. They allow people to vote not for their candidate, but the candidate they think their candidate will easily defeat.
Trump should be elected BECAUSE he would be a terrible president.
This is not exactly a ringing endorsement. Especially when we could vote for Bernie or Hillary and make the country better instead of worse.

"Link? It would be an interesting read. "
Unfortunately I couldn't find it.
http://www.commondreams.org/views/2016/05/16/coming-democratic-crackup
Just now found it.
" The parties aren't very clear cut right now. "
Yes, that happens when there is a change of generations, and history is made. The dixiecrats moved out of the Democratic party, which was then free to aggressively pursue civil rights without their dead weight, and joined the party of Lincoln turning it into the racist right. Before that, the Whig party vanished, some of them joining the brand-new Republican party, some of then joining the Democrats, while anti-slavery Democrats joined
the new Republican party.
Confused?
