I'm catholic and i heard that something really bad will happen at june 06 2006, that maybe 95% of all the people in the world will die and maybe just 5% will survive. that was supposed to be the pope's secret that he didnt want to tell cuz everyone will be in panic. Im im starting to believe its true cuz they said a big earthquake will happen at this dates and there you go the indonesia earthquake. do you believe its true? im staring to be scared to be honest.

Dear Maria, avoid the rush, give me all your stuff now before the Rapture. Idiots have been calling rapture since 666 A D. Surprise! Write back on June 7 and tell us all about it. By the way you've got the percentages reversed.
Oh, of course there will be some big apocalyptic on a date where the months, days, and even years are different from any Biblical calendar (Jewish or Roman), completely arbitrary, and is only a relation of three 6's, and not six hundred sixty six as the Bible even says!
Wasn't the numer actually 616 instead of 666? In that case all this should have happened back in January. Or the first of june depending on which system you use. And as for the time of the apocalypse, I propose to use the GMT-4, this will make me happy because I will sleep through all the killing and maiming.
Funny, there are a lot of people saying that the Pope is the antichrist who will make you wear the 666 designation, despite the fact that the number should be 616.
First, I feel I must mention that 6/6/06 is the National Day of Slayer , so maybe that is the unknown root of her fear. Secondly, I feel I must ask the following question: if she's a christian, then why is she worried? Isn't dying and going to heaven kind of the point? Finally, I'd like to make a bold prediction: 6/6/06 will be a day just like any other, the end of the world is not nigh, and maria_2386 is starting to get scared for no reason.
You know... because of the extra two months inserted by Julius and Augustus, shouldn't the 6/6/2006 have technically have gone past already according to any spiritually pure calander?
I would happily stand by maria's side, stroke her hand, keep her calm, and read bible verses with her and anyone else that believes the 06/06/06 deadline with the condition that once that date passed and nothing happened these people would put their foolish beliefs and religion behind them and rejoin reality.

Half of me wants to calm people like this, and gently explain to them why they have no need to be scared. The other half of me wants to mock them mercilessly for not having the common sense they were born with.
Thankfully this quote is five years old and in any case I'm highly unlikely ever to meet maria_2386, so I won't have to make a choice. I just hope she hasn't killed herself or anyone else in an attempt to escape her fears.

No earthquake has yet killed off 95 % of all people, dearie. If a quake that big was imminent, the seismologists would know about it weeks, maybe months before the event. The thing that did kill off most life in one swoop was an asteroid some 65 million years ago. Cosmologists would also know about it months, perhaps years, before that event, nowadays.
Maria, dearie, you'll just have to "hope" for November 12th 2013 or December 13th 2014. December 13th is Lucia's day, at least in Sweden. I think she was an Italian patron saint or martyr. In Sweden that connection is nil; it was the longest day of the year in the Julian calendar, and it was seen as a dangerous night, when you need a lot of artificial light, which Lucifer might bring...
