The reason you do not know "why that is" is because it is not true. It's true that violence ON and murder OF homosexuals is higher than the general population, but that's because homophobic assholes specifically target homosexuals.

Oddly the Doctor Brown statement is from Dr. Rebecca Brown, who is apparently the author of "Becoming A Vessel of Honor In The Master's Service". The fundie provides a broken link to his own review of the book, and states that he disagrees with her theology. She apparently has a degree in theology but is not a reliable source of information about that. She obviously does not have a degree in criminology or sociology but is used as a reliable source of information about that. Go figure!
