So, you think that FDR's supposed creation of the neo-liberal base, which you see as a bad thing, means that you can't see him throwing American citizens in camps, which you see as a bad thing. I think?
Yes, the Japanese internment camps are a sad event in American history, along with our treatment of black and Native Americans.

It was because of FDR, Eleanor Roosevelt and the New Deal Democrats that Hitler and Stalin did not do far more damage to this country than they might have done. Had you been living then, you would have been goose-stepping to the message of William Dudley Pelley's Silver Shirts, with their slogan "For Christ and Constitution."
The internment camps were a bad idea, but Franklin Roosevelt actually tried to quell racist fears of disloyalty.
Still, I don't think he (and California Governor Culbert Olson) should have caved to the racist vox populi.
He pulled the country out of the Great Depression, with no help from the damned Republicans, who backpedaled and pulled us right back down again after he had made real progress, saved millions from starvation by creating government programs to put people to work and establishing the framework that keeps our seniors, disabled and poor alive (if only barely) and guaranteed a living wage (until more damned Republicans started tearing it down in the late 1970s), and got us through the better part of a horrific world war. Yep, that's pretty close to Hitler, all right.

Oh, right...a corrupt, incompetent old movie star who raised taxes on everyone but the rich, plunged the country into massive debt in a deliberate attempt to dismantle Social Security and Medicare, and destroyed the middle class. Then two more incompetents, the last of whom is responsible for another financial catastrophe and hundreds of thousands of deaths to enrich his oil buddies. But that's all good, right? Nope, no damage there at all.

I don't think it's hard to believe. Documentation was so lame in 41 Ma and Pa Kent could call an Alien kid they found their child and no one was the wiser. (it totally works in that era, home births so common and a less mobile interacting society with weak 'take your word for it' documentation. The Nazis spent years building up to the war refining the detail of 'papers'.)
The Asians also resembled each other to our roundeyes so they also locked up Chinese (many American longer than Caucasians and German immigrants) Koreans, Polynesians and etc. Canada did this too then. Meanwhile, newly arrived German Nazis saboteurs worked with benefit of the doubt for awhile, being white and mainly fitting in.
Back to the gist of the main topic. How many voices and which party was disagreeable with that internment? Course you don't know, slinging mud's a inaccurate sport after all.
