[More hate aimed at Yahweh and Fstdt.]
FSTDT.com is no different. Their owner tried to convince me that all groups are treated on a equal bases as far as being mocked, made fun of, etc... But even their ratio percent is the same as this site's ratio. And FSTDT.com is a lot more vulgar. Maybe this site needs to learn how to project it's hate better and can learn some things from FSTDT.com. Like how to get your members to express a hate so extreme that they would suggest killing people for what they believe.

Whoa, I refreshed and the guy above me deleted his comment. I don't seem to recall it being anything untoward, he or she just emphasized the word "hate" in the original quote.
Annnnyway...
As much as this guy is an insane fundy, I have read a large portion of the comments on this site, and some have saddened me (some of these end up getting reposted to main and nominated for secular fundie of the month), and I can recall instances (though I would not enjoy trying to look them up for a link -- way too hard) where there have been mentions that were unequivocably suggestions to kill people for what they believe. Now, they may have been suggestions in jest, but they were not "die in a fire" or "I hope you get your balls cut off"-type hopes.
Has this person even LOOKED at what things we are commenting on? i mean, calling us violent and vulgar is a laugh, how many quotes just this month are about people claiming that X group should all be killed?
this is a free site, the only thing controlling how much is christian is that not as many people who post quotes here are exposed to other groups as much.
come, join in and post stuff to balance it out, if you want, it's that simple.
Most people here don't seriously condone violence, even against hateful scum of the earth who think they have the right to decide who lives and who dies because of some standards they claim an imaginary deity gave them.
We do often wish terrible things will happen to them, of course, but most of us don't suggest killing the people who get quoted here.
First, the majority of the site's quotes are going to be from your camp, because the majority of insane fundie Americans are christian.
Second, i hate to say, but this guy has a point, people. These people deserve to be mocked endlessly- that robs their words of power. Threatening death or physical harm on people just because they're douchebags make us look just as bad.
I think it says a lot that "die in a fire" is almost a catchphrase here. Remember what Neiche said: "Battle ye not with monsters, let ye become one; and read not a ton of fundie bullshit, lest ye start talking like a fundie."
There are the occasional flames here, but, honestly, the most vile hatred we have seen on this site is contained in the comments posted here from Christian websites. And usually, the "die in a fire" comments are reserved for those that show an appalling lack of compassion, demonstrates a kind of hatred that tends to cause shudders to run through ones body, or are so mind-numbingly stupid that they would be doing mankind a service by ceasing to exist. I think most of us here try to avoid the death directives, I know I do. But just how many times have we read a comment by fundies that say all gays, muslims, atheists, et.al. should be shot?
I agree with the idea that we should promote violence a little less. I usually try to stay away from the "Die in a fire!" stuff myself.
That said, most of the violent responses FSTDTers post is in response to people advocating violence themselves. I don't think we ACTUALLY want to be cruel to people, but a lot of the fundies who post here do, in all, real, actuality, WANT to hurt or kill people.
I do agree that we go overboard and hurt our own cause when we advocate dying in a fire, fucking one's self with a handgrenade, or the like. I know that I have been guilty of this sometimes, but it's hard for us to find fault with Fundie bloodthirstiness when we are advocating for their horrible deaths.
"Like how to get your members to express a hate so extreme that they would suggest killing people for what they believe." Has he been reading some of the fundie letters over here? It seems to be a running theme among them that gays should be executed and abortion clinics should be blown up with the doctors and patients inside! Hey Issac, "Remove the log from your own eye before you remove the speck from another's".
Well, *shuffles feet*, OK, maybe I can lighten up a bit sometimes. I'll try not to wish folks dead or injured.
Except for those paedophiles who were posted lately. I ain't apologising for wishing them dead.
Folks, there's a point here. We may not mean vulgarities literally, but don't forget that fundies take everything
literally. Yes, a great many of them advocate death for anyone different or opposed to their ignorance. Let 'em. I'd like to think we're above that.
I only recall advocating death once or twice, and only ever for people who really get me angry. Really angry. The recent paedophile posts are an example. Normally, I'll just formulate an extensive (but pacifistic) rant, or try my damnedest to come up with a witty comment (whether or not others think so is another matter).
Issac, just remember the cause of that extreme behaviour is ignoramuses who condone beating women, rape, the murder of children, and scores of violence that is seen as "good" because David, or god did it, and not some modern-day psychopath. I think for the most part, the harshest words are used for the harshest "brains" out there, who talk of disowning children because they are gay, or wishing that they never had been born. When a fundy who hates abortions, rues the day their own child was born, I must say that brings out the ugly in me.
For the most part, DIAF, FYWAH and others are used fairly sparingly, considering the depths of bullshit that some of these posts attain. If someon wants to call me an asshole for wishing some pedophile apologist an early and painful death, go right ahead. Me telling a stranger to fuck off doesn't come close to the bile and rage I feel when someone drives their kid to suicide because their bible told them he was going to hell.
Yeah fundies, suck my nuts! They believe what they want and they don't want to have morals, then fuck 'em. Whatever I can say is not half as bad as what harm and damage they are going to do in the real world. If people take quotes out of context, it does seem mean. But that doesn't begin to make up for the damage that they do on a regular basis. Daily basis.
So while I don't think DIAF belongs to every quote, motherfuck if some people don't fucking deserve it.
Issac: You have to work pretty hard to get yourself quoted in fstdt. They don't accept just anything -- in order to make fstdt.com, the quote has to demonstrate bigotry and/or stupidity and/or an appalling lack of humanity, common decency, and compassion to such a degree that some (or most) of the acceptable boundaries of normal human discourse have been seriously breeched (if not shattered).
THAT'S how you get quoted on FSTDT.com.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
