[AA being affirmative action]
Every single Asian I’ve met who supported AA is either not East Asian or did so out of resentment for whites, however well they try to mask it. These people support AA because their views are centered around whites. White people oppose AA, so I should support it.
Whether or not that’s morally justified is irrelevant, unless one considers equality a virtue. Which I don’t. To believe that people are equals is the whitest thing of all, ironically. My purpose is to elevate my race above others, not to be merely “equals” with non-Asians. AA is in the way of that goal.

Ooo. No true Asian.
To be honest I think AA needs to end. Sure it was relevent in the 70's, but social values have changed and most people don't discriminate based on race anymore. Also I heard of a white fireman who was denied a position because he wasn't a minority. AA doesn't really promote equality. It just gives
certain groups of people special treatment.
Also this belongs on RSTDT.
Look, alcoholics anonymous isn't perfect but if it helps get people off of the sauce then-

Oh, affirmative action. Shouldn't Mia be blaming "the blacks" or "the jews" for this or something? I guess the racists decided to diversify on their automatic go-to scape goats.
Funny. My best friend is Viet, and to the best of my recollection, I don't think the topic of affirmative action has ever come up between us. We're in the same line of work (machinists), but generally speaking, he's got a lot more experience than me, because he's a bit older, and been doing it a lot longer. He's actually taught me a few tips, and tricks regarding CNC programming.
He certainly doesn't seem to resent whites, or base his life around being spiteful towards us. Not many people would ask someone they hate, or resent to be their child's godfather.
@Jucifur "most people don't discriminate based on race anymore"
Pretty sure that 51% of people do discriminate based on race. I was raised in a racist home. Y'know what got me to understand that I had been taught bullshit? Going to school and working with people I never would have met, if it wasn't for AA.
I agree that the quota system of AA does mean a very few meretricious White people will not get their first choice of college or job. The only functional alternative I can see is to have a shitload more jobs and college 'slots.' Not a conspiracy minded person, but I have a growing sense that the 1% enjoy watching us fight each other like two cats with their tails tied together.
I believe that people ought to be equals.
Your purpose is to be a racist, apparently.
AA, if used rationally, as in first finding suitable applicants for a job, for example, and then single out the minorities and ask them first to come to an interview, can work very well. If your company has many women, you select men to ask in a first round of interviews. If your company has a lot of young people, you select older people. But the important point is that all must be suitable for the position; have the right education, merits and so on, THEN you look for the minorities. People who don't like AA often believe that it's done the other way; first look for minorities, then see if any is suitable. These are often the ones who think white, middle-aged males are the best candidate for EVERY job (unless it's in the cute little "care sector", of course, because EVERY woman is a caregiver), so they think companies miss the best candidates by doing this.
If they don't avow their hatred of whites, you know that they really do hate whites, therefore, all east Asians hate whites?
If one wanted to elevate one's race above others, I would think the first step would be to behave as an ethical paragon not like Mia.
You do realize the last time an Asian empire decided to go on a conquest fueled by the concept of racial supremacy* (rather than the usual need for resource, land, unifying their own people, etc. reasons) ended up with them getting nuked, twice.
Much of Asian history shows that empires** achieve their greatness by assimilating their conquests and tolerating other cultures and religions.

*Though the Japanese empire does use the other reasons too, just as secondary reasons...
**yes, even the Mongolians, which is how gunpower managed to get to spread to Europe... but that's a story for another day.
Belongs in RSTDT, but... yeah, I'd say this is fundie racist. The boundaries are a bit blurry in this case, I'll admit that freely. Still disgusting.
"Every single Asian I’ve met who supported AA is either not East Asian"
Your first mistake right here is thinking that east Asians share any sort of common values or ideologies. They don't. In fact, the only real common thread with east Asian countries seem to be that they hate each other far more than any Caucasian or African. Just some examples of conflicts or hatreds in Asia:
North and South Korea
Japan and China
Tibet and China
India and Pakistan
Japan and half of Southeast Asia
People like this make opponents of affirmative action look bad.
Even people merely claiming there is no racism anymore make opponents of affirmative action look bad.
There is obviously racism. However, two wrongs don't make a right. Discrimination can not correct discrimination. It fans resentment and gives racists more excuses to be racist.
Fix rundown neighborhoods regardless of what race lives there. Take into consideration individual accounts of facing discrimination. But automatically rewarding someone just because of their race is racist.
The biggest part of AA, and the part that has never been shot down in courts, is the part that says you must use the same, neutral standard with all employees and prospective employees. If you support that, fine...
The only bits that have been shot down are the bits that try to force you to use a separate standard for ANY ethnicity... if you support THAT part of AA, you'll get shot down in court too.
Funny how you'll change your tune when you gain knowledge, isn't it?
My purpose is to elevate my race above others, not to be merely “equals” with non-Asians
So you are a fucking racist. It's always nice to see that racists exist in every ethnic group.
Why do we need affirmative action? Since when does anybody discriminate against those @#$%&$% crackers, porch monkeys, dot-heads, dagos, krauts, frogs, camel-f*#kers and spics? [/sarcasm]
Confused?
