["When you or your family members go to the doctor, do you get antibiotics developed to treat drug-resistant bacteria, or do you insist that because evolution doesn't exist you should be just fine with the drugs from twenty years ago?"]
Frankly, I would never take an antibiotic; there are far safer and more effective treatments, but all that aside, nothing that you mention above has the slightest connection to evolution. You are propagandising by attempting to mix evolutionism with biochemistry.

Yeah, according to AiG, antibiotic-resistant germs are just "mutation and natural selection allowing for adaptation to the environment", not evolution. [/sarcasm]
Creationists seem to be developing a subtly new tack on stuff like antibiotic-resistant or nylon-eating germs: redefining "evolution". It's not evolution unless there's some kind of net gain - the old "ladder" theory. So if bacteria adapt to a new environment, it's not really evolution unless they keep their adaptation to their old environment.

Hey, don't knock it, I think this is a wonderful debating tool!
F'rinstance...
"The bible says nothing against homosexuality. It just forbids people having intercourse with others of the same gender, not homosexuality!"
"The bible never mentions a great flood. It just talks of all the surface of the Earth being covered with water, not floods!"
See? Brilliant!
"Frankly, I would never take an antibiotic;"
Lying for Jeebus, I think.
First sign of a serious infection and I bet he's at his doctor's door demanding he be given the best AB on the shelf. Then he follows the treatment for about half the course, feels better, praises God for curing him and throws the rest of the 'useless' pills away.
Thereby speeding up the emergence of an antibiotic resistant strain.
Anyway, what treatments? I know most fundies would never touch those ebil wiccan or native plants. Anyway, much of the time many of the plants do very little if anything on their own.
Yes, don't take antibiotics you hypocrite, we know you're so afraid of your own death you'd do anything to live. Anything. Otherwise, please don't take them, you're adding much needed chlorine to the gene pool.
Please make sure that you or any of your family members never take any antibiotics for the remainder of your "short" lives. Die for your belief and maybe your lives wont be worthless as they are now, your deaths might convince other morons that their belief system are as worthless as your lives had been and hence reject them.

Wow, I'd love to hear about them.
On the bright side we can enjoy the fact that him and his family won't be reproducing for very long. It's only a matter of time until they'll be pushing flowers due to lack of antibiotics when you fall sick.

I was just talking to my MIL, who's in a nursing home and just got back from the hospital after a bout with pneumonia. She was telling us about when she was a little girl (before antibiotics) and had pneumonia. She was laid up in bed for over a month. She still has the scar where the doctors punctured her chest to drain the fluids from around her lungs so she could breathe. She's allergic to most antibiotics, so she doesn't take them any more than she has to (they have to dose her with Benadryl at the same time), but she's not as nuts as this guy.
I recently stumbled accross this site when someone posted a link on forums I frequent. I am shocked that people actually post quotes from Christians on a website to be mocked by satanists.
I do not see what you people find so humorous in this quote. It is a proven fact that medicine does not cure sickness because it is not caused by "germs" or "bacteria". Have any of you ever seen these things so small you can't see them called "germs"? No, you haven't. "Germs" were made up by doctors who needed a way to make money so they made up a story about microscopic things that get you sick as a way to scare sick people into buying their products.
It is ignorant to believe in "germs" and "bacteria" when you have never even seen them before. Just because a few doctors write in their fancy little books that they exist does not mean it does.
Look at the sick people mentioned in the Bible, see a connection between them? They were all sinners! How were they cured? Faith healing. You get sick from sinning too much and in order to be cured you have to dedicate your life to God and understand his true power.
"Frankly, I would never take an antibiotic."
Remember if you will that "frankly" is a Hypocrite Idiot Magical Word that means "everything after this word is complete baloney." For proof one only need see any statement made by Newt Gingrich.
Hey JesusFan777, if you're for real and not a parody, you're priceless. Have you ever y'know, actually y'know, read the Bible? Or any other book?
"I would never take an antibiotic; there are far safer and more effective treatments..."
Yeap, because sitting around and praying to some magical being in the sky is much safter than obeying the instructions of a medical professional.
Oh wait...

It is ignortant to believe in "god" and "jesus" when you have never seen them before. Just because a bunch of guys wrote a book a few thousand years ago, does not mean they exist.

Staphylococcus and Bacilli called to say you're wrong. The doctors called too, and said that they're not selling the antibiotics you accuse them of, but only prescribing them in case you want to get better.

Well, if you weren't so fucking stupid...
Plus, Satan is a Christian concept. It has nothing to do with atheism - you know, people without theism?

Antonie van Leeuwenhoek called, he wants to have a LONG chat with you. You might have to read some other book than the Bible to find out who he is though.
"You get sick from sinning too much and in order to be cured you have to dedicate your life to God and understand his true power."
That's funny. I worked in a doctor's office for six years. People came in sick. My Buddhist employer (who's in perfect health, btw) prescribed medication. They got better. Amazing!
Now, please go amuse others with you stupidity.
"I read the Bible seventeen times and am reading it again right now."
Hopefully, you'll read it another seventeen times and become an atheist. I'm assuming that your brain knows how to process information though.
Frankly, I would never take an antibiotic;
If there is a God, he loves few things more than to see us eat our words. Try getting a massive infection of the scrotum sometime, as a person of my acquaintaince suffered. I'm pretty sure you'll be eating yours dry.

Name them.
but all that aside, nothing that you mention above has the slightest connection to evolution.
Those goalposts must be murder to move. It's the same thing on a smaller scale.
You are propagandising by attempting to mix evolutionism with biochemistry.
Descent with modification is a natural and inevitable consequence of biochemical systems that deliberately encourage variance in their offspring as a means of ensuring survival, fuckstick.

Okay, the one about not being able to see germs was tentative but there's no way that was anything other than trolling. Come back when you can use a little more subtlety. I hear Gaia is a good place to practice.
Antibiotics are fairly safe, being taken from the immune systems of animals or secretions of fungi. No, praying is not treatment, that's the placebo effect.
"....I'm going to ignore the whole "there are safer and more effective treatments".
But I have to SLIGHTLY agree with you. I'm not seeing much conection with evolution and medicine practice. "
Evolution: Organisms adapt through mutations. There are some bacteria immune to a certain antibiotic. When the antibiotic is administered, it kills off enough to cure the illness but then only the immune bacteria are alive to reproduce. When the numbers climb back up, the entire population (or most of it, they do mutate constantly) is immune.
Antibiotics/Vaccines: The bacteria we fought a year ago are mostly gone, but their children have adapted. So we need new antibiotics. It's the entire reason for a yearly flu shot and it's why there is no cold shot. Cold germs just reproduce too quick and are too versitile. Luckily they aren't deadly.
"Frankly, I would never take an antibiotic; there are far safer and more effective treatments"
Name one then, Editor-Surveyor. It's okay, I can wait...!
"but all that aside, nothing that you mention above has the slightest connection to evolution. You are propagandising by attempting to mix evolutionism with biochemistry"
Tell that to bacteriologists then. Four letters: M.R.S.A.
PROTIP: The bacteria that feeds on Nylon, a man-made material. Which didn't exist until the 20th Century.
PROTIP II: Virologists - between 1950-80 - in a carefully planned & concerted programme, have completely cured Smallpox (far deadlier than that old Biblical favourite, Leprosy; which itself is easily treatable these days via antibiotics ). To the extemt that this disease exists only in culture flasks in labs around the world.
Science now has the power of life and death over Smallpox. Scientists - 1. God - 0.
Here endeth the lesson.
If you understand biochemistry, you'll understand how evolution works. No, not you personally; you're a lost cause. But other people, educated people, understand evolution in terms of biochemistry.
Confused?
