It is clear from the scriptures that God calls upon individual Christians to diagnose and help the mentally ill. Keep in mind that all the major "psychologists" than "psychiatrists" of history were atheistic humanists who believed in evolution and that man was nothing but a pile of chemicals! The tree of psychiatry is rotten down to the root!

I'd welcome a Christian that genuinely wants to help the mentally ill. However, they'd have to accept that to be a psychiatrist or psychologist they'd need to devote their time to the appropriate training, which they can apply to their job using the knowledge, experience, and critical thinking skills that they have acquired through their degree and relevant work experience. If they're going to set themselves up as a therapist using the Bible and stock Christian morality as a basis for their knowledge, then they're going to be in the wrong business, and their therapy will not help the clients.

There's a reason why those that want to work with the mentally ill need to be trained. It's not because they need to be brainwashed into 'atheist dogma,' but because it requires training to ensure that the therapy given is appropriate for the client, and it gives the therapist the best possible opportunity to explore new, legitimate ideas.
