I personally suspect that persecution is coming more subtly, like losing your job if you refuse to go along with a new program. Those kinds of things are already happening without resorting to WW II style concentration camps. When I worked as an engineer in the U.S. 11 years ago, we were openly informed that if we expressed certain opinions at work, and others on the street, we were liable to be heavily fined and lose our jobs as liability risks to the company under provisions of the Americans With Disabilities Act. A number of teachers have lost their jobs just for questioning Darwinism. They don't have to do something so dramatic as put us in concentration camps. They can just put us out of work, take us to court under existing statutes, and leave us penniless in the streets without even a bowl of prison rations. I think the watch dogs are barking up the wrong tree.

I personally suspect that a paranoid rant is to follow.

I highly doubt this actually happened, probably what happened was, while on the job you mouthed off to minorities or cripples or invalids or something, and you were told on no uncertain terms that your behaviour was intolerable to everyone else. And you're still sooking about it. They think they're so smart, but someday they're gonna pay for it!
They don't have to do something so dramatic as put us in concentration camps.
The real world is rarely as dramatic as you paranoid people think.
They can just put us out of work, take us to court under existing statutes, and leave us penniless in the streets without even a bowl of prison rations.
Umm.. Hey, this is more paranoid than standard fundy. I haven't heard about God yet, or even the Republican party.
Well, telling people that they're sinners, heathens, sodomites, they're going to hell, etc. really has no place at work, unless you work at a church. And teachers can't, and shouldn't, use their personal opinions to override the curriculum. If you don't want to teach evolution, don't be a science teacher in public school.
One thing stops this being a "5".
Political correctness really has gotten out of hand, to the point of threatening free speech.
Therefore, this gets a "4" for effort.
What the fuck were you saying to co-workers that could get your company fined under the ADA?
Maybe you shouldn't go around insulting people - especially your coworkers - who have disabilities, then you wouldn't risk being punted from your job for being an insufferable douchebag.
Every year of my employment I had to take an online training course to remind me not to make comments like "hey, gimp!" or "what's with the turban?" or "so what are you, a C-cup?" (According to their lawyers, I could still call someone a poofter, though.) It's persecution, I tells ya!
EDIT: BTW, I just got laid off. I was persecuted for not being a Hungarian in Hungary receiving Hungarian wages. The OP was right! President Obama has been in office for two weeks; let's blame him.
"When I worked as an engineer in the U.S. 11 years ago, we were openly informed that if we expressed certain opinions at work, and others on the street, we were liable to be heavily fined and lose our jobs as liability risks to the company under provisions of the Americans With Disabilities Act."
That's because telling disabled people that they could be healed if they'd just get saved is hateful and abusive.
"A number of teachers have lost their jobs just for questioning Darwinism."
They should lose their jobs if they are trying to teach the creation mythology in science class.
I have absolutely zero sympathy for anything you've said here.
"Please do what you are being paid for and stop slagging off minorities while you are representing this company."
"No!"
"Then I'm afraid we'll have to let you go."
"I'M BEING PERSECUTED!!!"
1) No one is going to fire you for being a Christian. If they do, they'd be liable to a lawsuit. They might fire you because of your behavior, but not for your faith.
2) Many organizations (for instance, the U.S. Navy, where I work) have policies of not doing certain things as a representative of that organization. For example, I can, if I so desire, go to a political rally. I can't, however, do so in uniform. It's possible that this is what your company was talking about.
3) Matthew 6:25-34. If you are doing what it says in verse 33, why are you worried?
"I personally suspect that persecution is coming more subtly..."
No more of that moaning and screaming the name of the creator and stuff...Persecution's neighbors were threatening to call the police, and the shit just had to be toned down.
we were openly informed that if we expressed certain opinions at work, and others on the street, we were liable to be heavily fined and lose our jobs as liability risks to the company under provisions of the Americans With Disabilities Act.
Yeah, I'd can your ass for making cripple jokes too. It's bad for business. Then again, I'd also can your ass for screaming about Jesus in my customers faces.
"A number of teachers have lost their jobs just for questioning Darwinism"
Stop getting your facts from Expelled idiot and Google expelledexposed.com. Seriously, I've seen that movie and it's nothing but a big stinking heap of propaganda.
"They can just put us out of work, take us to court under existing statutes, and leave us penniless in the streets without even a bowl of prison rations."
2 cents says this person is opposed to "OMG Evil WELFARE!!!!"
