You do realize, don't you, that as a closeted gay, he was already able to "sit around and ogle the guys in the shower room", right? The ONLY difference, is that now the other guys know about his orientation. They can either accept it, or not, as they choose.

Really, this is what homophobia all comes down to: They're deathly terrified that any gay person might find them attractive. The reason for that I'll leave open to speculation.
What has a contract bonus got to do with anything other than his performance? And, naturally, no shred of understanding that Jason Collins might be in a faitful, monogamous relationship. It all has to be about sex, painted in the most lurid terms possible. Fundamentalism really is the spiritual equivalent of the supermarket tabloid.
Yeah, no. Here's the thing. Homosexuals live their lives day in, day out working away. Does the odd one try and pull the gay card to get sympathy? Probably, yeah. However, the vast majority just live their lives like their heterosexual counterparts. He's not doing it for fat contract bonuses, he's doing it to be honest with himself, and his teammates, as well as showing kids (willingly or not) that being gay doesn't mean that you're living a deadend life where your nights are spent getting pounded in a bath house. That you CAN be gay, and CAN be successful, athletic, and a good person. You know, things people like you fight tooth and nail to suppress.
And I can assure you, if he was fapping to guys in the shower room (which is not a given, believe it not, we have types. Some guys like twinks, others like bears, others like jocks, others...you get the point) he was assuredly doing it long before he came out, and I'm sure he had and has the decorum to do it outside the lockerroom.
Yeah, if any of that ever happens, you might have a case. Why don't you hold your breath till then, okay? At the very least, you'll pass out and shut up.
