“Miracles do happen. They are documented all the time.”
By believers. Let’s see an objective investigation conclude that something has absolutely NOT explanation unless we assume magic and/or gods.
“Also, if you say that Jesus didn't perform miracles (including being raised from the dead) you are merely questioning the historical accuracy of historical records.”
Records that historians recognize as historical are never anonymous. Too much of the Bible is. We don’t konw who wrote Matthew, Luke, Mark, John.. Someone just assigned names to them a few centuries after they were written.
“It is odd that biblical records are always questioned to the nth degree,”
They’re not even questioned, they’re discounted. We don’t know who wrote most of them, or when, or why.
Moses traditionally wrote the book describing his funeral. And that wasn’t written by a contemporary, as it said he was the most humble of men, ‘even to this day.’ That’s some vague time after the event.
"but no one ever questioned if Aristotle ever existed.”
You might consider that.
“Either way, your argument is just another facet of "I doubt because the cost of not doubting would be prohibitive.”
No, it’s not. I doubt because the details are
uncorroborated, of unknown source, date, or purpose.
