Hull, Spring Bank:
Four secondhand computer/mobile phone/electronics shops: two owned by Shia Muslims; so many other businesses down that street run by Sunnis; one restaurant owned by Kurds.
Several Asian food stores owned by Muslims, some of which are 'convenience stores': which sell alcohol, bacon, pork pies, ham etc. There are also a couple of Eastern European food stores. The Sainsbury's & Tescos there sell Eastern European food. As well as that which is Halal.
Two Christian churches.
Four pubs. Two of which - including 'The Polar Bear', formerly owned by an aunt & uncle of mine - have Rainbow Flags in their windows denoting that they are at least LGBT-friendly.
During the 30 years of the Christian
IRA's terrorism, there were three bomb scares in Hull, for which they claimed responsibility. The amount of Islameist activity in Hull from the time Muslim immigrants first started coming here - way before Al-Qaeda existed - to today: Zero.
Yep, this Muslim district is sooooooo the 'No-Go Area' that is Sharia-ruled Spring Bank, that I'm scared to go there to buy beer at some of the convenience stores there, as well as shop at the Sainsbury's & Tescos, and buy components from the bike shop down that street, FSTDT Doesn'tLie/Aunty-FSTDT/FSTDT Doesn't Suck. [/hyper-sarcasm]
...and you'd better have a word with Humberside Police too: their officers certainly have a hard time not being so much as looked at in a funny way by the Muslims there, whenever I've seen them patrolling Spring Bank.
