Right. He did a bang up job too. Instead of, you know, letting them govern themselves any damned way they please. History has shown that eventually the populace will rise up against dictatorship and create a new, better government on their own. They don't need outside intervention and it's generally a bad idea to go fucking with another sovereign nation's rule anyway.

I voted for Obama, and I have a BS and MS in Chemistry. Ditto for my boss. My father voted for him, and he has a PhD in Chemical Physics.

I would be willing to bet that analysis of the voter demographics would prove the exact opposite. My guess is that the only people willing to vote for another four years of retarded Republican administration are just that, retarded.

If you really were educated you would know that Iraq is a fucking disaster zone of massive proportions, that the US Forces are nowhere near being ready to leave, and that the whole place is broken up by sectarian violence the US invasion facilitated.

We.. We didn't change Japan's government a whit.. All we did was make them officially state that the emperor wasn't a living kami, which Hirohito himself believed to begin with. The Meiji restoration that occurred in the 19th century put the focus of a divine emperor at the forefront to try and reinstate his power, and so state Shinto preached about his divinity to try and unify Japan under its ruler. Thing is that when WWII came around, the military wanted resources like oil and decided that if they invaded key islands in the Pacific, they could get them more easily. They silenced the intellectuals who spoke against it, labeling them as 'unpatriotic' and disposing of them. (Sound familiar to anyone?) The problem was that the other major power in the Pacific was the U.S., so they tried to declare war. The emperor himself was unwilling to fight, but the generals wanted those resources, so.. The rest is history.

When we defeated Japan, we didn't change anything in its government, and Japan is still a constitutional monarchy. In fact, it has had a single dynasty in its entire history. Changing dictatorships into democracy? FAIL.

If you had finished High School, you would have learned little things like grammar and punctuation. However, I would not be surprised if fans of Carlin were more likely to vote for Obama than humorless fundies were.

And as for the U.S attempts to promote democracy, I can counter with 2 attempts where the U.S actively tried to destroy or sucessfully destroyed democraticlly elected governments, & replace them with more compliant dictatorships...
The first example was the attempt in Chile on September 11, 1973, which succeeded..
In this case, the CIA Funded a Military Coup, which resulted in the overthrow of the Democratically elected, left-wing President, Salvador Allende (who was executed by the junta, on the day of the coup, reportedly by Pinochet himself), & the imposition of the Pinochet Dictatorship.
The attempt that failed, (though in the long term, you could argue otherwise) was that of Nicuragua, in the late 1970's/early 1980's, after the downfall of the U.S backed Smouza Dictatorship...
The CIA in this case, funded, trained & armed Contra "Terrorists/Freedom Fighters"(Delete as Applicable), in a attempt to overthrow the Sandinista government, which was elected in a "free & fair" election, at the time, according to international monitors/observers...
The past 2 Nicuraguan governments, by contrast, have not been elected freely & fairly, as there have been documented incidents of "vote rigging" by the pro-U.S ruling party.
Note: Both these incidents happened during the tenure of Republican Presidents, & targeted countries that democratically elected "Left Wing" governments...
