First, the left side of the political world would have us believe that because 30% of Americans approve of gay marriage, that we absolutely need it.
Firstly, if it's 30%, it's 30 who say we need it, 30 who say we abolish it, and 40 who do not care. Second, how about we strip you the rights of inheritance. The right to visit your loved one in the hospital. There are a number of rights inherent to marriage that we're getting fucked over with. THAT'S why we're fighting for it. That's why it's necessary.
Then there those few churches and denominations that approve of gay marriage.
And good for them, too. Good to see that not all denominations use God as justification for their hatred.
But what about the majority of Americans and American Christians who disapprove of gay marriage.
The majority of Americans felt that slavery was okay, too. As with women being treated like glorified slaves...you know, like those evil Muslims.
The last time I checked, this was still (at least for a few more months) a Democratic Republic.
The last *I* heard, the law was there to protect the minority from the tyranny of the majority. Don't want gay marriage? DON'T FUCKING GET ONE! Other than that, suck it up, stop boo-hooing that the world is shifting, and you don't have your political whipping boy anymore, and admit that life will go on.
And that would mean that anyone who has a basic High School education that the majority rules.
That is the most crude, inaccurate version of the American legal system I've ever heard.
AND I'M A GODDAMN CANADIAN!
We should be following what God tells us and deny gay marriage nationally.
And working on the Sabbath, and eating shrimp or pork, and wearing garments of mixed fabrics...God says no to a lot of things you conveniently ignore.
The government and the scientific community have been sleeping together for decades.
First, what does the scientific community have to do with anything? Second, the church has been in bed with the government for far longer, and with FAR more deleterious effects, too.
Why else would Congress do the silly things they do and say the stupid things they say?
Because bible or no, they're about rights.
Because they receive their information from so-called credible sources when in fact they are questionable sources.
Only because they say things you don't want to believe. If they disagree with you, they're wrong.
When the scientific community says that gay people were born that way, there are those in Congress who grab that statement and attempt to force gay marriage laws on the entire American population, even though there are many scientists who disagree with that analysis.
It has nothing to do with "born that way." It has everything to do with granting equal rights to everyone. And guess what? I would wager my year's pay that most of the scientists that disagree are likely on Focus on Destroying the Family's payroll, on the topic of questionable sources.
The audacity of government and science!
And the audacity of a holier than thou jackass, holding a bible, thinking he knows more about what our rights should include than we do.
