Business as Usual

Robin Egg:
The twilight zone is what it felt like looking at the dems at SOTU. They are so filled with hate they cannot see their own folly. Not one ounce of humanity left in them.
Mick Williams:
It's scary to think about the power wielded by those pretty faces.

One of the most depressing things about the Trump era is how they've copied the fundy tactic of prepping thier believers with ready made programming that will make corrrectly reasoned counterarguments by reasonable people look like proof the fundies are right. "See? We told you they'd get mad at you for telling the 'truth'. Notice how riled up you made them? See how much they protest you and your message? That proves we were right. We told you that would happen.".
This evil tactic makes it impossible to persuade these people by using honesty. You have to resort to emotional appeals - a tactic at which an honest person is hindered BY their desire to be honest.
A crappy, unfunny comic from Mick....
Yep, it's "Business as Usual" all right!
Dear One-Trick Pony,
It still doesn't work. You try this again and again, with childish dialog and abominable art work, and you have yet to reach either humor or pithiness. I think you should seek employment in some other field of endeavor.
Respecting the Office of President goes both ways, o Alt-Shitists.
Which is why Dick Willy has gone off the deep end, never mind into... the Twilight Zone.
You walk into this room at your own risk, because it leads to the future, not a future that will be but one that might be. This is not a new world, it is simply an extension of what began in the old one. It has patterned itself after every dictator who has ever planted the ripping imprint of a boot on the pages of history since the beginning of time. It has refinements, technological advances, and a more sophisticated approach to the destruction of human freedom. But like every one of the super-states that preceded it, it has one iron rule: logic is an enemy and truth is a menace.
The chancellor, the late chancellor, was only partly correct. He was obsolete. But so is the State, the entity he worshiped. Any state, entity, or ideology becomes obsolete when it stockpiles the wrong weapons: when it captures territories, but not minds; when it enslaves millions, but convinces nobody. When it is naked, yet puts on armor and calls it faith, while in the Eyes of God it has no faith at all. Any state, any entity, any ideology which fails to recognize the worth, the dignity, the rights of Man...that state is obsolete.
"The Obsolete Man", episode 65 of the Twilight Zone
Top, all lies, proven all lies by stats.
Trump deserve NO RESPECT and I'm glad they're dropping the pretence that he does.
You notice how much this has worked up the right, especially the religious right. To them it's all about complete, enforced subservience to Emperor God Trump. It's a cult. I saw this fawning with W but not to this level and not the insistence that all bow, all critique stop and all resistance be arrested and jailed JUST for disagreeing. It's not just Trump to be fair, the Republicans have been running on a 'We don't answer to you/ You don't question us' platform for decades.
P.S.
Just noticed they've put a Hammer and Sickle on Bernie, with Trump, his whole family and a lot of his inner cabinet definitely, proven to be linked to Russian operative and money.
Y'know, the criminals you're demanding respect for.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
